Pectolite
stock #18.1-390
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
2.4 x 1 x .7 CM (thumbnail)
price: $220
Late Summer 2018

Probably the worlds best and largest Pectolite crystals came from the Jeffrey mine years ago. These were often slender, flat blades or needles often in spectacular sprays and groups. Sharp euhedral prisms like these were much more rare. This one is just large, doubly terminated crystals that have crisp sharp edges, glassy faces, is translucent to transparent. Perfect, undamaged glassy prisms in a nice arrangement, no place else on the planet has ever formed Pectolites like this. These have the characteristic one sided chisel termination and a hint of green. A choice thumbnail of a mineral not often considered for fine crystals.
Vesuvianite
stock #18.1-193
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.1 x 2.1 x 1.2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $180
Spring update

Jeffrey Mine thumbnail with a main 2.5 CM crystal standing above broken but recrystallized smaller Vesuvianites. The main crystal is in good condition as seen, the color is good and displays well. Attractive from all angles, a nice example of the habit from this prolific but closed locality.
Grossular -gemmy etched crystal cluster
stock #18.1-AX-24-267
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.4 x 2.6 x 1.8 CM (miniature)
price: $380
Spring update

A completely transparent cluster of Garnets that has no matrix and yet also has good isolation of the largest crystals. A relatively three dimensional specimen that has an unusual "etched" or melted look to several crystals. With strong magnification this is seen as complex modifications to edges and very fine striations that are not typical. An attractive and (in my experience) rare oddity that is also affordable. Internal clarity is near 100 clean facet grade gem.
Prehnite crystals on Diopside
stock #18.1-081
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
4.6 x 2.8 x 1.9 CM (miniature)
price: $900
Spring update

A pair of well formed, isolated Prehnite crystals are nicely perched on a matrix of slender Diopside crystals. Excellent contrast and an unusual combination that is very esthetic. The display face of fully crystalized and fully damage free, which is remarkable with delicate Diopsides. Jeffrey mine has over the years produced the best Prehnite crystals in the world in many habits and colors. This miniature is remarkable for the perfection of form, a super Prehnite specimen from anyplace and quite fine even among good Jeffrey pieces.
Pectolite (unusual green) with Grossular
stock #17-AL-473
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
5.2 x 4.6 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $1650
Spring update

Extraordinary mint-green acicular needle crystals form a sparkling mass on green and colorless Grossular crystals. This is the only example we have seen of green Pectolite from Jeffrey, or from anyplace for that matter. A few tiny Diopsides are also seen with magnification. Very bright and attractive. Some of he Pectolite needles are the typical white color close to the terminations but green near the base. Displays well from several angles, really different and special from the great Jeffrey mine.
Grossular (pink) w. Diopside
stock #16.1-AX-576
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
4.9 x 2.5 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $950
Spring update

One of the rarest colors of Grossular from Jeffrey is pink, and especially desirable is on a contrasting green Diopside. Far above average size for the main crystal at 1.2 CM and gemmy. Sharp edges and bright luster make this especially attractive. There are some contacts and chips mostly on smaller crystals but these are not easily seen. This also keeps the cost far below the usual level for a Jeffrey pink. This could be trimmed to a very fine thumbnail if desired.
Grossular - two colors
stock #18.1-128
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.3 x 2.3 x .6 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $175
Spring update

A thin plate of matrix hosts two generations of sharp, gem Grossular. The larger crystals are the well known orange hue but the smaller crystals are colorless to light pink. A nice and uncommon contrast. This is in fine condition, no damage seen at 10X magnification. Excellent glassy luster, sharp striations and quite three dimensional.
Grossular on Prehnite
stock #18.1-129
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
1.7 x 1.5 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $4500
Spring update

An unbelievable killer "bonsai tree"! This small thumb from the great Jeffrey mine is unique. Perfect display and undamaged all around. The Garnets are the deep emerald green color that are called "Chrome Grossular" and are gem clear. The Trunk of the tree is a single complete Prehnite crystal of the elongated prismatic habit. We have handled quite a few bright green Grossular but have never even seen such an esthetic combination. Simply extraordinary for the locality and for the specie. Top notch competition level, really a once in a lifetime thumbnail.
