Rosasite with Calcite rosettes
stock #17.1-AXA-4 243
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
8.8 x 6.6 x 6.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $975
Pre Holiday 2017

Colorful and choice, this is a striking specimen. Velvety Rosasite on a gossan matrix is decorated with bladed Calcite crystals some of which form Rose like structures. The Calcite range from glass clear when small to milky whitein the larger blades. Several are twinned and the whole composition is very fine. The condition is excellent for such a delicate piece, there is a single cleave and very minor chips to be found on a careful exam but in a normal display nothing is noticeable. This is the best example of this find and habit I have seen, from 2013. The Calcites are mostly thin flattened rhombs or flattened hexagons with sharp, transparent or translucent edges. Far better in person.
HOLD Alamosite- rare xl rosette with Wulfenite and Mottramite
stock #HOLD 16.1-440-CN3975
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
7.8 x 4.8 x 2.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $320
Pre Holiday 2017

A very rare specie from Mina Ojuela ex Charles Noll, Crawford and Seaman Museum. etc. A transparent white crystal spray sits nestled in a mossy green matrix of Mottramite and characteristic Ojuela blocky Wulfenite. Better known from Tsumeb where it is one of the rarities sought much sought after, however the type locale for this mineral is in Alamos, Mexico.
Legrandite w. Smithsonite etc.
stock #A-10-656
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
6.2 x 3.8 x 2.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $360
Pre Holiday 2017

Gem clear bright yellow crystals of the Legrandite in several vugs on a Gossan matrix. A sprinkling of slender white Smithsonite crystals are also in some of the vugs as well, along with micro crystals that I can not identify. Many Legrandite crystals are perfect, undamaged and highly lustrous, but this is not a specimen for perfectionists since there are also some broken crystals in a few areas. For such a delicate mineral the condition overall is incredible, especially since some crystals protrude outside the protective vugs. Displays nicely but could be trimmed to make top notch thumbnail(s) if desired. As a rule these older Legrandites are very expensive even with some damage, this one is quite reasonable.
Rosasite
stock #Alec 4-249
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
4 x 4.1 x 2.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $390
new june 17

A free-form sculpture of velvety Rosasite from Ojuela. This seems to have formed over a gossan matrix most of which has been etched away leaving this botryoidal mass of Rosasite. Fine color, this is nearly all Rosasite not just a thin coating. From a find in 2012 that was one of the best pockets of Rosasite seen in decades, this is a very attractive piece in great condition.
Adamite- Cuprian ex Marty Zinn
stock #12.1-262
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
6.8 x 5.3 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $400
Spring 2017

An outstanding Ojuela Adamite, with sharp glassy undamaged crystals on contrasting matrix. This is not the crumbly type gossan but a solid specimen with the Adamites well protected in a vug. In person the color is a little deeper and more intense than in the photos. This quality has not been seen for a few years. Former Marty Zinn piece, choice.
Rosasite with Calcite and Malachite
stock #Alec 11-254
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
6.5 x 3.9 x 3.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $160
Spring 2017

A really colorful dark green Rosasite with Malachite on a matrix of clear rhombs of Calcite. The specimen is covered with small spheres and botrytoids of velvety Rosasite intermixed with Malachite. The condition is choice and the contrast with the white Calcite crystals sets everything off well. A little different esthetics than the usual Rosasite.
Adamite
stock #9.1-376
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5.7 x 3 x 1.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Spring 2017

Bright green color botryoidal Adamite from the great Ojuela mine. In fine condition and with vivid SW fluorescence, Adamites in this form are classics. An attractive older specimen of better quality than newer finds.
Legrandite
stock #16.1-304
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5.9 x 3.1 x 2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $690

Well exposed vug filled with perfect yellow acicular form Legrandites. Unlike many pieces these are free standing crystals not laying in the matrix. A choice piece with strong esthetics and color. Small globs of greenish Adamite are present as well, this is an older specimen dating back to the earliest finds at Ojuela.
