A richly crystalized specimen in fine condition collected in 1970 by John Marshall. John notes on his collection card " Found in the north end of the open cut above Driggith Mine on West Fell. Specimens in the south end tested Mimetite but this is deeper green and more Pyromorphite in shape". These crystals are far larger than average and the condition is excellent. Sadly this quality has not been found for decades, John spend many weeks digging in this zone and this was his best specimen. A very fine Driggith piece.
An exceptionally fine, classic Caldbeck Fells Mimetite with excellent pedigree. Ex. John Marshall, Lindsay Greenbank, and Richard Barstow. The deep green crystals could be mistaken for Pyromorphite (both species were found here and some looked identical) this is confirmed Mimetite. Pristine condition, great color and luster that is not like typical "Campylite". This shows both rounded and distinct, prismatic crystals free standing and in bunched clusters.
