Quartz- included by Hematite
stock #18.AX-11-317
Orange River, Namakwa
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
3.4 x 1.8 x 1.3 CM (small miniature)
price: $175
Late Summer 2018

A choice small specimen of Orange Rive Quartz that presents perfectly on all sides. The transparent Quartz prism is colored orange to red from the included Hematite. Nicely perched on the matrix, this is from the big Orange River find in 2013. These have since dried up. Far better color and condition than is usual, display well.
Gold in Quartz
stock #17.1-717
Henderson Mine, Chibougamou
Quebec, Canada
3.8 x 3.7 x 2 CM (small miniature)
price: $950
Spring update

Gold in crystals, sheets and massive zones densely filling a veined Quartz matrix. From the Henderson mine in Chibougamou, this is an especially rich specimen from the locale that is famed for the worlds best Cubanites. Very few specimens of Gold have been preserved from this locality, Ex Glenn Petrie, and Les Hitchings collections. The Gold is visible on every surface of the matrix, and under magnification the richness and complex delicate structures are very elegant. Total weight of 34 grams I would guess the bulk of that weight is Gold.
Calcite -complex twinned
stock #18.1-AX-10-851
Gralex Quarry, Mont-sur-Marchienne, Charleroi
Hainaut, Belgium
3.4 x 3.4 x 2.3 CM (small miniature)
price: $75
Spring update

A choice small specimen from this noted locale. The Calcite is undamaged, mostly transparent and shows complex twinning. This locale produced many habits and some top pieces over the years, but it is now finished. This is a small, cute, affordable piece from this important locality with a nice arrangement.
Elbaite/ Schorl with Fluorite, Quartz etc
stock #18.1-189
Stak Nala, Haramoush Mountains
Skardu District, Baltistan, Pakistan
3.8 x 2.8 1.8 CM (small miniature)
price: $330
Spring update

Dark Tourmalines (deep green- brown to black) that are translucent and very lustrous with a green Fluorite crystal. Small Quartz crystals and Albite are also present. In excellent condition as seen the terminations are sharp and complete. It is likly that this Tourmaline is a mixture of both Elbaite and Schorl in zoned growth. The Fluorite is a modified octahedron and the combination is very attractive. A choice small miniature from the amazing pegmatites of Stak Nala.
Grossular -Gem clear, with Clinoclore
stock #17.AL-498
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
3.8 x 3.6 x 1 CM (small miniature)
price: $825
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very bright, clear and perfect little gem from the great Jeffrey Mine. A fine small miniature / toenail, this could also be trimmed to make a competition thumbnail. The matrix is a mix of clinochlore crystals and small clear grossular that are pale pink or colorless. The main Garnet is cinnamon orange-red, well positioned on the plate and is complete all around. You can see through it perfectly. Even before this legendary locale closed for good the garnets had become scarce and very expensive when of top quality. This is far better in person and a real bargain for the quality and esthetics.
Topaz with, Elbaite, etc.
stock #14.1-044
Murzinka Mine,Sarapulka Dist., Sverdlovskaya Oblast, Middle Urals
Urals Region, Russia
3.6 x 2.6 x2.4 (small miniature)
price: $195

A small but very esthetic version of classic light blue topaz from the Urals. A gem clear crystal with pale blue color at 1.9 CM in size is neatly perched on contrasting matrix. Small additional crystals of Tourmaline are on the matrix adding interest. Very good condition damage wise this presents nicely.
Elbaite -(unusual gem crystal)
stock #A7-181-144-1
Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill,Mesa Grande District, San Diego County
California, United States
2.8 x 1.4 CM (small miniature)
price: $380
Spring 2013

This looks at first glance like a cute beryl crystal with a mint green color, but it is an unusual older Tourmaline from the Himalaya Mine. Sharp, complete, glassy and odd! In some light it looks more blue green and is 100 percent gem grade. Ex. Larry White collection, and not a typical California Elbaite at all!

Cute azurite rose on a small piece of matrix from a destined to be classic locality. Lustrous and sharp with very minor malachite.
