Pyromorphite -Rare locality
stock #0694-JM-554
Electric Point Mine, Gladstone Mountain, Leadpoint, Stevens County
Washington, United States
4.2 x 3.7 x 2.8 CM (miniature)
price: $110
Late Summer 2018

This is the only Pyromorphite I have seen from this locality, therefore I could say it is the best one I have EVER seen! Actually it is fairly rich, a nearly pure piece of Pyro, but clearly not fine display grade, with modest crystals and some vugs of botryoidal crusts. Ex John Marshall Pyromorphite Suite obtained by trade with the Royal Ontario Museum in 1972. A rare locality piece with good color and some nice areas.
Pyromorphite and Mimetite - Classic Locale
stock #1040-JM-753
Driggith Opencut, Caldbeck Fells, (Cumberland)
Cumberland, Cumbria, England
6.5 x 5.4 x 5.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Late Summer 2018

A richly crystalized specimen in fine condition collected in 1970 by John Marshall. John notes on his collection card " Found in the north end of the open cut above Driggith Mine on West Fell. Specimens in the south end tested Mimetite but this is deeper green and more Pyromorphite in shape". These crystals are far larger than average and the condition is excellent. Sadly this quality has not been found for decades, John spend many weeks digging in this zone and this was his best specimen. A very fine Driggith piece.
Pyromorphite
stock #0281-JM-693
Susanna Mine, Leadhills, South Lanarkshire
Strathclyde, Scotland
7 x 5.2 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $400
Late Summer 2018

An impressive dense mass of small Pyromorphite crystals encrusting all sides of the matrix. From the classic Susanna Mine Leadhills, Scotland, this was in the John Marshall collection. Collected by him in 1970 such fine specimens have not been found for decades, it was the end of an era of richly productive field collecting. In fine condition with a deep green color this is simply an attractive, sparkling specimen from a classic locale.
Pyromorphite
stock #18.1-282
Rosenburg Mine, Braubach, Bad Ems District, Lahn Valley
Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
4.2 x 2.3 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $680
Worldwide mix summer

A perfect, undamaged small Pyromorphite with a pleasing form from the classic Bad Ems area. A thin plate of matrix crystalized all around with mustard green pyros some of which have a yellow tip. This region is world renowned for the many fine Pyromorphites that it once produced, especially the large brown hoppered crystals. This old piece is of a less common style and color. Remarkable to be 360 degree displayable and completely damage free. One face of the specimen has less green and more typical brown but even that side displays well too. The Rosenburg Mine closed in 1963, and it was most active in the late 19th and early 20th century. Specimens of this quality are usually quite old and have passed through many hands, making it rare to be so pristine.
Pyromorphite- Mimetite series, Classic locale
stock #18.1-220
Donori, Calagari Province,
Sardinia, Italy
5.9 x 4.7 x 3.2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $280
Worldwide mix summer

Choice, quite lustrous green Pyromorphite (originally labeled as Mimetite) from the old locality at Donori, Sardinia. Very good coverage and deep apple green color, a few small crude crystals are seen with strong magnification, but overall this is a botryoidal specimen. Quite three dimensional and in fine condition, this is much richer than most I have seen from the locality. These are now often labelled as being Pyromorphite- Mimetites as it seems there are both species in the deposit and may be zoned.
SOLD Pyromorphite
stock #SOLD 7AE-036
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
8.8 x 7.3 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
Spring update

Large mass of pure Pyromorphite in 3 dimensional hills with good grass green color. From the Daoping mine near Yangshao, this was mined before 2005 in the upper oxidized zone. That area has now been finished and the mine is closed. Well covered on the face with dense crystals, nearly all are perfect a few chips can be found with careful looking, but obviously not very noticable. The price reflects this. The luster is mixed, some crystals are quite bright and others have a more matte look. A good rich, sizable Pyromorphite from an important mine.

Kransberg, Usinggen, Taunus Mountains
Hesse, Germany
6.8 x 4.9 x 5 CM (cabinet)
price: $525
Spring update

An old Kransberg German Pyromorphite from the Collection of John Marshall. Johns Pyromorphite suite was an ambitions attempt to gather the best examples possible from every confirmed Pyromorphite location in the world. He obtained many obscure and exotic examples in 60 plus years of effort. This was obtained by him in 1989. The 6.3 x 4.5 CM display surface is covered with mix of Pyro and Quartz with crystals to 5mm., most in good condition. Although no mine was attributed on older labels it looks a good match for the Jennette mine in Kransberg.
