Wulfenite - with Malachite, Dolomite etc
stock #10.1-326
Tsumeb
Otavi-Bergland district, Oshikoto, Namibia
3.9 x 3.1 x 2.2 (miniature)
price: $180
Fall 2015

A nice, affordable Tsumeb Wulfenite showing sharp dark cognac colored crystals on a complex, contrasting matrix. Micro crystals of several species cover the matrix. The Wulfenites are translucent to transparent and have some tiny edge chipping as seen. Inexpensive for this classic locale due to the small imperfections, ex. Clive Queit, with his label.
Wulfenite with Mimetite crystals
stock #15.1-543
Chah Milleh Mine, Anarak Dist., Nain Co.
Esfahan (Ishfahan) Province, Iran
3.6 x 3.3 x 2.1 CM (miniature)
price: $230
Fall 2015

A cute small example of the Orange Wulfenite with small balls of Mimetite from the Chah Milleh discovery. An exciting new find of Wulfenite that has similarities to both the Rowley and San Francisco Mines, but is also clearly different. Those mines had little balls of Mimetite, but this has sharp prismatic crystals that look a bit like the orange Bunker Hill Pyros. For any Wulfenite suite this locality is quite important. Micro sized chipping exists (as in nearly every piece) shown in the photos. As a result this has a far lower cost but still looks good. Several crystal habits of both Wulfenite and Mimetite are seen with magnification, but the naked eye display is quite nice too.
Wulfenite
stock #15.1-289
Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz County
Arizona, United States
4.7 x 3.3 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $550
May 2015

The Red Cloud mine is rightly legendary and highly regarded as a source of great Wulfenite. This example has a main crystal that is undamaged, has fine color and sits perfectly on the matrix. Remarkably, all the tiny associated Wulfenites and Calcites are in fine condition even under 10X magnification. The base and rear of the specimen was sawn flat to enable collection without damage. The saw marks are completely hidden from any display angle and the piece sits well by itself.
Wulfenite

Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
3.9 x 3.5 x 1.8 CM (miniature)
price: $150
pre Tucson 2015 update

A delicate small Tsumeb Wulfenite that has fine transparency. Very nice butterscotch color, there are some unidentified tiny white platey crystals as well on the matrix. The specimen has some tiny edge chipping damage on one of the crystals so the price reflects this. This could be trimmed to a thumbnail but I like it just as it is. By naked eye this displays just like an undamaged piece.
Wulfenite w. Calcite
stock #AX-31-100
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
5.5 x 5.4 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
pre Tucson 2015 update

Iranian Wulfenite with a distinctive look and sizable crystals in very good condition. From the little know and very old Ahmad Abad Mine, this has a nice decoration of tiny calcite scalenohedrons. Very few of this size are damage free, this on is remarkable and intact. A fine addition to any Wulfenite suite.
Wulfenite
stock #AX-16-192
Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker Dist., Jerada Province
Oujada-Angad Province, Oriental Region, Morocco
6 x 3.7 x 1.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very nice sculptural old Touissit Wulfenite specimen that displays well. In good condition overall, there is minor damage as seen in the photos and is typical of nearly every piece when examined with care. That said, this is a very displayable piece with quite good color and very shiny luster. These are now hard to find with this quality and esthetic form.
Wulfenite w. Calcite
stock #AX-31-093
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
5.2 x 3.8 x 4.3 CM (miniature)
price: $575
pre Tucson 2015 update

An unusual and attractive Iranian Wulfenite from an exciting new (old) locality. The Ahmad Abad Mine in Yazd Province last worked over 200 years ago, it has recently produced a small number of quite impressive Wulfenites of many styles. This has complex orange crystals decorated with Calcite in tiny scalenohedrons. Most crystals show the chevron or "arrowhead" habit, some old broken areas are noted most of which have recrystallized and some breaks have secondary coatings of Calcite. Large crystals for this find and a nice addition for a Wulfenite suite.
Wulfenite w. Calcite & Plattnerite
stock #AX-31-094
Ahmad Abad Mine
Yazd Province, Iran
4.8 x 4.9 x 3 CM (miniature)
price: $600
pre Tucson 2015 update

A very complex Iranian specimen, a delicate structure of thin, translucent bladed Wulfenites are decorated with tiny calcite scalenohedrons and black accicular Platnerites. An interesting and showy esthetic, this is in remarkably pristine condition for such delicacy. From small scale collecting at this old abandoned mine.
