Fluorite -gem clear on Quartz
stock #17.1-163
Cantera Llamas, Duyos, Caravia
Asturias, Spain
7.1 x 4.8 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $680

Incredibly transparent. clear cubes of Fluorite on a sparkling Quartz matrix. The details of the matrix are perfectly visible seen through the Fluorite. In excellent condition the cubes have typical small edge bevels and light violet color with a slight hint of zoning. The result is the Fluorite is nearly invisible from some angles. From a small but excellent pocket found in 2017, this is an especially fine example from this remarkable locality, and an great Fluorite from any place at all.
Fluorite, Galena, Quartz, Brochantite and Anglesite
stock #19.1-996
Blanchard Mine, Bingham, Hansonburg District, Socorro County
New Mexico, United States
8.3 x 7 x 2.0 CM (cabinet)
price: $750

Old specimen collected by Les Hitchings in the early 1960 period. In remarkable condition a plate of matrix with very three dimensional and well positioned highlights. The Galena is especially choice, sharp and shows the typical alteration to Anglesite on the surface in unusually sharp well defined crystals. These are also Fluorescent bright yellow. The Fluorite shows well the stepped growth structure that is distinctive from this locale which is nearly spherical. In several spots on the matrix are tiny balls of Rosasite that while not very large add a touch of color on close exam. Great esthetics, a classic locale and in excellent condition.
Fluorite- Pink
stock #19.1-677
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
2.2 x 1.4 x 1.3 CM (thumbnail)
price: $240

A choice little thumbnail cluster of light pink transparent Fluorites. From the important new find at Huangang, these clear octahedrons are included by fibers of an Asbestos like mineral, perhaps Byssolite clearly seen inside. The specimen is a chain of 4 discrete complete Octas with no matrix. Can be displayed in any orientation. This was a large find at Huangang but this level of quality was very rare, perhaps 1 in 100 pieces at best. This style of Fluorite is unique, absolutely unlike the pinks from any other locality. The faces are lightly frosted but the interiors are very clear with good color. The large number of specimens recovered has helped keep the prices affordable this is certainly the right time to get a choice piece. Better in person.
