The Wulfenites are associated with small balls of Mimetite that are both yellow and Orange in color. The large main crystal is 1.5 CM diagonal and sits perfectly on the matrix. Some bits of adhering matrix and tiny contacts are noted but not significant, and there is no chipping or damage on any of the main crystals. The Wulfenites at San Carlos were mostly yellow and orange but a few reds were found, this is in person a super intense red color as fine as any top Red Cloud Wulfenite. The crystals are unusually transparent and have brilliant luster on the faces. Better in person.

A neat thumbnail of interlocked rhombs of Rhodochrosite with tiny calcites on some edges. The crystals are complete and in undamaged condition. This is a nice example of the HQLP (High Quality, Low Price) concept. Calcite - intense red
stock #19.1-281-(6035)
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
9.7 x 5.7 x 3.1 (cabinet)
price: $800

A stunning piece from the collection of Rock Currier, his label number 6035 is included. The fingers of Calcite reach up to 5 CM and host many hundred of transparent crystals that are included with intense red Hematite. The glittering effect is really impressive in person and this is a superb Santa Eulalia specimen with great visual impact. In fine condition as seen, the red fingers contrast with the colorless Calcite of the matrix. With magnification the Calcite are seen to be in several habits and many have red phantoms inside. A few later generation colorless Calcite twins are perched on the red crystals adding a nice accent. An excellent addition to any good Mexican suite or Calcite collection. A well chosen pieces, these do not get any more colorful than this.

San Antonio Mine, Santa Eulalia, Aquiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
10.8 x 7.9 x 3.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $360

A striking color zoned Calcite from the San Antonia Mine, Santa Eulalia. This was mined about 20 years ago, and shows two generations of Calcite with different habits. Brilliant red color and with bright luster, the red is most likely from Hematite. The display face is in excellent undamaged condition, the only damage is along the outer edges where it was removed but even that is minimal. A distinctive, colorful Mexican piece that is much more impressive in person.
Selenite (very clear gypsum crystal)
stock #19.1-238
Naica Mine. Naica, Municipio de Saucillo
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.7 x 3.1 x 1.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $240
Spring 2019

Textbook perfect, sharp and transparent, a single doubly terminated Selenite from the famed Naica Mine. This is a 1970s vintage specimen in fine condition as seen. There are a few wispy inclusions that are not visible on some display angles, the exterior luster is very glassy with a few areas with very minor frosting. Overall this is a choice example. The Naica mine produced a lot of Selenite in its day. Not much that came out was this fine, most had some damage or edge issues. Now that the mine is closed these better specimens are becoming treasures.
