A profusion of Tourmalines with minimal matrix making a complex but esthetic array. The Elbaite crystals are a clear light blue grading to pink and red colors. The main crystals are all perfectly terminated but some of the smaller ones have damaged parts that are not easily noticed. The crystals reach 3.7 CM and are quite three dimensional. An older Pederneira specimen with a form and color palate that is not like more recent material. Choice.
A new find of Imperial topaz with zoned inclusions from the famed Ouro Preto. This late 2016 find had less than a dozen crystals but all have deep brown to near black inclusions on the lower areas of the crystals. The tops and terminations are very fine, gem clear and slightly zoned in hues of yellow to orange. This world class locale has produced unique "imperial" Topaz for many decades. This small find is very special, it a unique habit that is different but still exhibits the well known fine gem crystal that is classic from here. In person this is more transparent, lustrous and undamaged

Delicate sprays of perfect transparent Eosphorite crystals are clustered on crystalline Rose quartz. From the Richard Gaines collection, this is older material from several decades ago. The color contrast and sparkling luster make this often unattractive mineral an attractive display specimen. Even better in person.
Elbaite on Lepidolite
Santa Rosa Mine, Itambacuri
3.8 x 2.4 x 2 CM (miniature)
A colorful jumble of green Elbaite crystals offset by bits of purple Lepidolite. Very nice luster, moderate damage as seen on some crystals keeps this a very affordable specimen.
Elbaite -Blue capped crystals
Mina Camilo Gigante, Itinga
2.9 x 1.5 x 1.3 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
Excellent quality, zoned gem Tourmalines with distinct blue caps. Both crystals are terminated, the larger with a simple flat top and the smaller with a more complex habit. By naked eye there is no damage seen but a 20X magnification does find micro chipping on a few edges, still about as close to perfect as can be found. From finds about 6 years ago. A good value for a nice, small but clean gem.
A super and unusual thumbnail gem crystal with a clear red Rubellite exterior that lets the green-blue inner core be seen like a racing stripe. Choice and better in person, there is a tiny bit of adhering matrix and one small clean contact with no damage. This crystal is also dichroic with a good color shift seen when rotated in front of a light source like a computer screen. Small but with a good display impact far larger than the size!
Elbaite- Gem grade crystal
Resplendor Mine - Doce Valley
4.9 x .8 x .4 CM (miniature)
Sharp, pure gem clear grade with fine green to blue green color. The photos have a very slight backlighting, with a stronger backlight this crystal glows intensely and shows some blue zones as well. In fine condition as seen with top notch glasslike luster internally flawless and super clear. Older material from the famed Resplendor mine, there has not been any like this available for some time.
