Hematite (iron Rose) on Adularia
stock #A-9-037
St Gotthard, Central St. Gotthard Massif, Leventina
Canton Uri, Switzerland
5.3 x 5 x 2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $140
Spring 2020

A bright single flower of bladed Hematite contrasting nicely with sparkling Adularia crystals. An older "Eisenrose" this is sharp and displays well, the main rose being 1.3 CM across. A classic Alpine specimen when these are a bit larger they can be incredibly costly. This is a fine smaller piece (far more affordable) and could be trimmed to a fine thumbnail if desired.
Fluorite - pink, Alpine
stock #A7-423-(233)
Goschenen
Canton Uri, Switzerland
6.2 x 5.2 x 2.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $110
Worldwide mix summer

A cute, small classic style pink Flourite specimen with tiny but perfect octahedrons scattered on a matrix of Adularia crystals. If these were a bit bigger this would be a very expensive specimen, any good Swiss alpine Fluorite is one of the great goals in the mineral collecting world. These small crystals are choice but obviously small and so very affordable for one of these.
Fluorite, Pink single crystal
stock #AX-20-079
Planggenstock, Goscheneralp, Goschenen Valley
Canton Uri, Switzerland
2.1 x 1.8 x 1.4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $290
new june 17

Alpine pink Fluorite with a slight zoning, frosted faces and classic habit. Mounted on a turned wooden spindle this is a nice thumbnail that wont break the bank. Not perfect, there is contacting and cleaving on the underside so this is really about the top half of the octahedron, which is the logical display side. As a result the price is far less than usual for a nice Swiss Fluorite. Excellent value
Quartz Gwindell
stock #10.1-39X
Grischun (Grisons)
Canton Uri, Switzerland
7.7 x 7.7 x 6.3 (cabinet)
price: $1500

An impressive, esthetic and FULLY UNDAMAGED Quartz Gwendel on matrix . It is almost impossible to find a good, undamaged all around gwendel that is under 5 figures. This cabinet sized example is simply a fine piece, the quartz is absolutely gemmy but dusted on the exterior with chlorite whith makes it look murky, unless it is backlit. I have not backlit these photos, but it really glows if displayed that way. Sits well and presents from any angle unaided. Alpine cleft quartz really is distinctive and the most sought after are the gwendels. This example has a very smooth walled twist, and is priced below "market".
