Fluorite (purple cloud) with Calcite
stock #21.1-167
Yindu Mine, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City
Inner Mongolia Region, China
3.9 x 2.4 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $1350
New Year 22

An incredible Yindu Fluorite with a glass-clear blue crystal that has a deep purple cloud inside and a fine edge phantom as well. Super sharp and resting on Calcite the Fluorite has impeccable bright luster. The overall effect is like looking into an aquarium. Good Yindu Fluorites are now very much admired and sought after, as they are both beautiful and unlike most any other Fluorite. One edge of this elongated cube is contacted where it was on matrix but there is no damage, breaks or chips. This rests on a crystalized mass of white Calcite and the contrast is excellent. Better in person too.

Hedenbergite with Arsenopyrite
stock #16.1-061
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
6.4 x 4.7 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
new year 2021

Metallic bright Arsenopyrite crystals in clusters and rosettes are the matrix for a radiating spray of Hedenbergite crystals. In fine condition, this displays well from many angles. The Huanggang Mine has become the most prolific source of many diverse mineral species. This is an esthetic example of two of these species.

sceptered Quartz with Mangano-Calcite and Dolomite
stock #16.1-113
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
7.6 x 4.4 x 2.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $350

Amazing form and structure on this remarkable specimen. The core of this is a doubly terminated Quartz that has a narrow waist forming the scepter and also has the "jacare" steps and faces along some faces, and some smoother "bending" on others. The addition of the stacked flat Calcites gives contrast and adds a nice pink color. The Quartz are clear to milky but have many inclusions that add a bit of color and interest. The overall form and presentation is unusual even for Huanggang which has produced some wonderful and unusual Quartz over the past few years. Choice.

Scheelite with Quartz and Magnetite
stock #16.1-117
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
4.8 x 4.3 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $720
Spring 2020

A fine looking, well formed Scheelite crystal in pyramidal form with a flowerlike Quartz cluster on one edge. Very esthetic, the Scheelite has a glassy, translucent, micro pitted and slightly etched surface that makes a nice contrast. In excellent condition, the matrix at the base of the piece is a mass of Magnetite crystals. The Scheelite and Quartz are in excellent undamaged condition. The Scheelite has a few green coatings and inclusions of Hedenbergite which gives it this color. Far better than the typical Scheelites from here and better in person.

Fluorite -Pink Octahedral with inclusions
stock #19.1-676
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
1.8 x 1.2 x 1 CM (thumbnail)
price: $220

From the great new finds at Huangang, this is a perfect thumbnail of two light pink octahedral crystals. The crystals are nicely juxtaposed and the whole is a small but esthetic piece of high quality. These transparent octahedrons are included by fibers of an Asbestos like mineral, perhaps Byssolite. The condition of this is perfect on all sides, each corner and edge is undamaged. This was a very large and impressive find but this level of perfection was very rare, perhaps 1 in 100 pieces at best. This style of Fluorite is quite unique and absolutely unlike any pinks from any other locality. The faces are lightly frosted but the interiors are very clear and the included fibers are easily seen. The large number of specimens recovered has helped keep the prices very affordable this is certainly the right time to get a choice piece.

Pink Fluorite with inclusions

Helvite/ Genthelvite on Quartz with Fluorite
stock #AX-14B-107
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
8.8 x 5.4 x 4.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $950

A huge somewhat crude but very sharp Helvite series crystal is nestled in a cluster of prase type Quartz. These Helvite crystals are often zoned in this locality and may contain all members of the series (Danalite, Helvite and Genthelvite) in a single prism. This one has clearly also had some secondary alterations, and some parts of the Helvite faces have been encrusted with tiny Quartz crystals. The termination has an extra touch - a purple octahedron of Fluorite perched near the tip adds contrast. No damage, the Helvite is nearly 4 CM tall which is very large from any locale and especially big for Huanggang. An early specimen (prior to 2008) from this now prolific mine. An impressive example of this locale and specie.

Calcite balls with Quartz and Actinolite
stock #16.1-177
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
7.2 x 5.5 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $190

A remarkable and strange Calcite formed of spherical clusters of flat crystals. The balls are connected in a chain and these are covered with bright sparkling Quartz in tiny doubly terminated clear crystals much like Herkimer Diamonds. A scattering of Hairlike Actinolite crystals are seen with magnification impaling both the Quartz and Calcite. Choice and in excellent condition, the esthetics are impressive. Another of the mineral wonders from the incredible deposits at Huangang.
