Fluoritre on Schorl and Quartz with Goshenite (Beryl)
stock #AX-14-350
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region, Namibia
6.9 x 5.3 x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Early summer 2021

Violet crystals of Fluorite with complex rounded faces most of which are on and included by Schorl crystals. A scattering of small Quartz and Goshenite. In excellent condition, bright and lustrous, the Fluorites have color zoning in areas with a darker red-purple and these all glow with any backlighting. A clean and attractive Erongo piece that can be displayed from almost any angle.

Fluorite - highly etched spires
stock #21.1-070
Omehane, Otjinamewa, Dâures
Erongo Region, Namibia
3.5 x 2.3 x 1.7 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $480
Early summer 2021

Very unusual, highly etched yellow Fluorite from a little known locality in the Erongo Region of Namibia. This was from a small find of just 6 pieces, all with good yellow color (unusual in Namibia) that have been etched into spires. This piece and all the others are nearly pure Fluorite but with a thin band of crystalline Quartz that is the base. We have been hoping to obtain more of these odd Fluorites but nothing else of this sort has been produced. A very different looking (and oddly attractive) piece that will not be like anything else in a Fluorite suite.

Fluorite - etched crystals with Schorl, Hyalite Opal and Microcline
stock #17.1-295
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
10 x 7.7 x 6 CM (cabinet)
price: $620
new year 2021

Fluorite in clusters of etched, rounded octahedral crystals with rich 'jelly bean' green color on a complex matrix. Crystals are transparent to translucent and glow brightly when backlit. Overall in fine condition there is just a small cleaved crystal on the edge of the back side, the display face is perfect. These etched Fluorites from the Hohenstein pegmatite are unique and can have some remarkable forms. This cluster is displayable from several angles and offers an unusual yet esthetic composition. The specimen was extracted with hard hand labor by the 'small miners' collective in 2017. Super attractive in person.

Fluorite on Schorl
stock #AX-14-159
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region, Namibia
6.8 x 5.3 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $790
new year 2021

Colorful zoned Fluorite crystals are perched on a jumble of lustrous Schorl crystals from Erongo. Close exam of the Fluorites shows they are also included by dark tourmalines some of which have areas of transparency. The Fluorites have some spots of deep purple set in a light blue background. These crystals are somewhat etched and show some spinel twinning as well. The Schorl crystals are in two habits some with the fibrous habit faces and others with prismatic forms. All are quite lustrous and with two different termination types. Overall very esthetic and striking specimen from a find in 2018. The pegmatites of Erongo have given up some remarkable pockets over the years many of which were unique having unusual habits and forms not seen in any other. We have not seen any more recent finds of this style.

Topaz on Microcline with Quartz
stock #17.1-524
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
6.6 x 4.7 x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $230
new year 2021

Small, perfect, gem clear Topaz crystals are perched on a Microcline crystal that is perched on a Smokey Quartz crystal. This association of species is a classic assemblage and very well-presented in this Erongo specimen. The condition is good, with some contacts and edge roughness on the matrix, the Topaz are fully perfect even under strong magnification. This was excavated by the "small miners" collective on Hohenstien in 2017.

Fluorite - spinel twins and chain growths
stock #17.1-308
Hohenstein Massif, Omaruru District
Erongo Region, Namibia
9.3 x 4.2 x 2.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $550
new year 2021

A crazy unusual Fluorite that has an incredible odd crystallization. The whole piece is a mixture of slightly twisting "strands" of linked chain-like growths of crystals that looks "melted". Some of the strands host larger, textbook examples of spinel-twinned Fluorites some of which are color zoned. The whole mass is transparent to translucent, and when backlit is a mixture of purple, green and yellowish colors. This was found on the Hohenstein Massif in Erongo in 2017, part of a small pocket of very strange yet beautiful(to me, at least) Fluorites. This is a complex specimen, interesting from most any angle, very hard to describe but for any lover of Fluorite this is a amazing piece.

Boltwoodite
stock #17.1-306
Goanikontes Claim, Goanikontes, Arandis
Erongo Region, Namibia
7.7 x 5.3 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $320
new year 2021

Several balls of radiating Boltwoodite crystals are nestled in an open vug lined with Quartz. The specimen shows both the bright yellow and red-orange colors of the Boltwoodite and has a nice contrast with the dark Quartz. The largest sphere is a centimeter across and is showing the starburst of tightly packed needle crystals and a color zoning. A nice example of the specie.

Beryl var. Aquamarine with Schorl and Quartz
stock #15.1-448
Erongo Mountain, Karibib
Erongo Region, Namibia
4.2 x 3.2 x 3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $60
new year 2021

A cute Erongo combo specimen that has several doubly terminated Aquamarine crystals splayed on a mixed crystalline matrix. The Beryls have some transparency but overall they are a milky translucent. The Erongo Mountains have endless varieties of interesting minerals and produce enough volume that nice things can be found at any price point.
