Apophyllite - Pink
stock #16.1-1266
Guanajuato, Municipio de Guanajuato
Guanajuato, Mexico
8.7 x 6.8 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $260

A fine crust of Apophyllite crystals with a light pink color and glassy luster. An older piece from Guanajuato with the typical Quartz matrix having amethyst zoning. From the Stanek collection (Brno, Czech republic) we do not see many Guanajuato specimens available, most Mexican pinks are from Zacatecas or Charcas but these were found long before those later finds. In super fine condition.
Epidote -classic Austrian
stock #19.1-500
Knappenwand, Untersulzbachal Valley
Hohe Tauern Mts. Salzburg, Austria
3.3 x 2.8 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $360

A choice small miniature of Knappenwand Epidote crystals perched on a sliver of matrix. Showing brilliant glassy luster, these are translucent with a dark yellow green when backlit but more green-black in normal light. In excellent condition the free standing crystals are just under 2 CM tall. All the crystals are in the classic alignment as they are standing in a tight parallel row. Every few years a few more Epidote are recovered from this most classic Alpine locale. These mountains do not give up these treasures often.
Pseudomalachite
stock #19.1-406
Lubietova, Slovenske Rudohorie Mts,
Banska Bystrica Region, Slovakia
9 x 7.7 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $480

Large and superb, rich old specimen of Pseudomalachite from the ancient mining area of Lubitova. This locality was called Libethen by the Germans and Libetbanya by the Hungarians, but is now in Slovakia, and is Lubitova. Mined since the Bronze age and closed in 1863, this is one of the great locales of Europe and this specimen is an outstanding Pseudomalachite which has formed on and arround a gossan type matrix. In addition to the large botryoidal green masses there are hundreds of tiny spheres and a few stalactitic fingers in a dense mass of deep green. Very fine piece for the specie and for the locality.
Siegenite on Galena
stock #7.AE-289
West Fork Mine, Reynolds County
Missouri, United States
4.3 x 3.7 x 4.4 CM (miniature)
price: $390

Rich growth of Siegenite crystals on Galena which is in cubes, modified cubes and octahedrons. Quite esthetic for this rare mineral (Cobalt Nickel Sulfide). Ex collections of Steven Chamberlain obtained from the Lendall Hill collection. Fine contrast and with many excellent display angles.
Grossular - fine Gem Garnet
stock #18-AX-31-006B
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
1.7 x 1.7 x 1.5 CM (thumbnail)
price: $950

Bright, lustrous, colorful and incredibly well formed gem Garnet from the Jeffrey Mine. A tiny bit of Diopside matrix and a small side car crystal are the only additions. In fine condition as seen, a quite superb thumbnail with well defined striations and a glass-like look. Single complete and well isolated crystals of this size are especially desirable. There were never many of top quality Grossular when the quarry was working but now these are just never seen.
Uraninite -large cube
stock #19.1-466
Cardiff U Mine, Wilberforce, Halliburton
Ontario, Canada
8.8 x 6.2 x 5 CM (cabinet)
price: $375

A large Fluorite and Calcite matrix with a very big (1.6CM) single cube of Uraninite well exposed on the top edge. This cube is a bit unusual as it shows some corner modifications. The Luster is moderate to dull as were most of the larger crystals from this area, and there is a crack visible from some angles but the crystal seems still quite solid. As this is a quite radioactive specie there are limits on shipping but we can make hand delivery to major shows or use a special courier (more expensive) for shipping. This locality has been reclaimed and there will never be more of these.
