Cripple Creek District
6.75 x 4.9 x 4 CM (cabinet)
A very well crystallized example of this Gold Telluride, from the Ruth and Andy Palmer collection. Older material, this specimen dates before 1940. The matrix also contains micro crystals of other un-identified tellurides, but the main event here is the 4.5 CM large zone of crystallized Sylvanites. The largest of these reaches 1.5 CM most are 1 CM or less. A sharp and distinct specimen in excellent condition.
Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County
5.1 x 4.5 x 2.1 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
A nicely etched "mushroom" like crystal of multi-color Fluorite. An esthetic piece, the core is distinct yellow with a blue overgrowth and a few zones of light purple making for a colorful display. A few tiny Calcites add nice accents. Better in person, this is a nice example with good form, color and in fine condition.
A superb example of this very special find with a sharp, sparkling rhomb of Siderite (3.4 CM) perched perfectly on a mix of Quartz, Chalcopyrite, Galena etc. In perfect condition with nice architecture and contrast, this displays very well from every angle. Ex John Marshall collection, these were never common and have been very hard to find now for many years.
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
5.4 x 3.7 x 2.4 cm (small cabinet/ large miniature)
Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. Nearly perfect this specimen has very minor damage that can only be seen with a careful in hand study. Great display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.
Mimetite with Wulfenite
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm (miniature)
Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite and yellow wulfenite crystals to 1 CM from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The Wulfenites are an added bonus. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. Most piece had a lot of damage and few had good wulfenites. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. This specimen has some damage that can be seen with a careful study, but is limited and far better than 90 percent. Fine display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.
Shakur Quarry - Nasik District
9 x 7.5 x 4.9 CM (cabinet)
A simple yet impressively esthetic Thomsonite with 2 perfect spheres of reddish brown crystals reaching 4 CM across. Very 3 dimensional piece this displays super well from most any angle, there is no damage. We do not offer Indian zeolites unless they are something really special, this is an especially attractive, colorful piece and surprisingly pretty for what is usually a dull white mineral.
A fine piece from an American classic locality, the Tristate Joplin area. This was once a great producer of good minerals, it is now long gone and high quality pieces have become very scarce. This esthetic and unusually colorful piece has a 6 CM twinned butterscotch calcite contrasting with ruby red Sphalerites. In great condition, 1940s vintage specimen this is piece would have been far better than average back when these were plentiful. Today this quality is almost never seen.
An amazingly long, curved chain growth of Pyromorphite that is a fine 360 degree display piece. Sharp, lustrous and in great condition this is a great example of this rare and esthetic habit. From finds at Daoping in 2008 this type of Pyro was a big surprise in the mineral world, the habit is uncommon and never before in such large crystals. Every side shows complex striations and the piece is a floater , it has crystallized on every side. Already a classic locality, this mine has reset the world standard for fine pyromorphite.
