Uvarovite -Type locale
stock #18-AE-223
Saranovskii Mine, Saranovskaya, Permskaya Oblast, Middle Urals
Urals Region, Russia
9.5 x 8 x 1.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Worldwide mix summer

Large, densely crystallized plate of very bright green Uvarovites from the classic original locality in the Urals. Intense color (this is a true Chromian Garnet) and these crystals are very sharp, distinct and glassy. A sizable, eycatching piece, this is sawn on the backside where it was collected, the sawn area is not visible on display. Uvarovites are one of the rarest Garnets, and only a few places have ever produced any of quality.
Mimetite- modern classic
stock #18- AX26-006
Pingtouling Mine, Liannan, Sanjiang
Guangdong, China
5.7 x 3.2 x 2.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1400
Worldwide mix summer

Superb top quality specimen from the great finds at Pingtouling over a decade ago. Top color and bright glassy luster, the condition is remarkable. We have handled a lot of these Mimetites and just a few really stand out, this is one of the best with display impact far bigger than its size. The color is the most desirable orange-yellow. Crystals are up to 1.5 CM which is huge for the find. The Pingtouling mine flooded and collapsed years ago but the Mimetites it produced in a vey short period are regarded as some of the best yet found on the planet. Excellent value.
Ferberite- doubly terminated
stock #18-AX-1-405
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County
Hunan Province, China
7 x 2.6 x 1.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $240
Worldwide mix summer

An excellent sharp Ferberite crystal from the great Yaoganxian, with top bright luster. The crystal shows the distinct pointed tip termination that is the less common habit. Yaogangxian specimens are often multi-specie, there are almost always a few species on any specimen. This may seem like just a Ferberite crystal, but it has micro crystals of Fluorite, Quartz, Muscovite, Chalcopyrite and one small Bournonite. The color is jet black but looks metallic as it is so lustrous, in very good condition, a few contacts are visible but no real damage at all. Ferberite is not often attractive, but good lustrous crystals like this are.
Wulfenite coated with Calcite/ Cerussite
stock #8.1-346
Tuokexun (Toksun) Tulufan Prefecture
Xinjiang, China
3.4 x 3.3 x 2.9 CM (miniature)
price: $450
Worldwide mix summer

Free standing bright red Wulfenite crystals are epitaxially coated by a layer of Calcite. A few small flat white micro crystals are also included in the coating that had been x-rayed as Cerussites, but we have also been told there is some disagreement on that result. Either way, the specimen is very esthetic and this is a striking arrangement. In excellent condition as seen, this is from a find in 2010.
HOLD Wulfenite with Mimetite
stock #HOLD 18.1-AX-21-049
Rowley Mine, (Reliance Mine), Theba, Painted Rock District
Arizona, United States
3 x 2.8 x 1.4 CM (miniature)
price: $420
Worldwide mix summer

Fine, colorful, delicate and in pristine condition, this is a bright and attractive miniature. From the final mining efforts at Rowley, a choice specimen from this modern classic locale. Transparent windowpane blades standing on contrasting Mimetite matrix. Some of the cryastals have a deep red center zone. Displays well from several angles, this is delicate but shippable.
Epidote -Doubly terminated
stock #18-AX-19-123
Alchuri, Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan
Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
4 x 1.6 x .6 CM (miniature)
price: $80
Worldwide mix summer

A glassy yellow-green crystal cluster of classic form that is largely transparent from Alchuri. Doubly terminated and nearly a complete floater. There is a small edge rough spot where this was in contact with another crystal. The Pakistani Epidote can look a lot like other Alpine localities but have some distinctions too. This is a nice complete and very affordable example.
Ludlamite - fine crystals with minor Chalcopyrite
stock #10.1-328
Blackbird Mine, Lemhi County
Idaho, United States
8.4 x 5.6 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $600
Worldwide mix summer

A choice, very well crystallized plate of green Ludlamite crystals from the classic Blackbird mine. Several old labels (included) date this back to 1960, which was the period when the best Ludlamites in the US were found. The Ludlamites are deep green, sharp, translucent and in clusters, balls and rosettes. A choice US classic of the quality that is almost never seen on the market today. No damage and the matrix has been stabilized to prevent crumbling of the soft Sulfide base.
Dolomite- Penetration twins, gemmy crystals
stock #18- AX-19-153
Cantera Nueva, Eugui
Navarra, Spain
7.1 x 6.3 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $420
Worldwide mix summer

A fine transparent cluster of Dolomite crystals from the classic Spanish locality of Eugui, Navarre. An uncommon matrix piece, the crystals are up to 4 CM in diameter and very sharp, undamaged. Dolomite is a very common mineral and crystals are not rare at all, but sharp, gem clear Rhombs like this are really only found at this one locality and they are very rare in such quality. Some minor dark zoning is seen but overall these are white to colorless and mostly transparent. The penetration twinning is textbook sharp and clear, an excellent piece found in 1998.
