Large well-formed Chalcopyrite crystals surround sharp, bright lustrous black Sphalerites. Ex Gene Meieran collection, this is in excellent condition, from Huaron. An earlier label gives an incorrect locality however this is classic for the mine. The largest complete Chalcopyrite crystal is 4.4 CM across. The display face of this piece is remarkable in that it is undamaged. Chalcopyrite is a very delicate mineral and larger crystals almost always have some "issues". The Sphalerite crystals are complete and undamaged as well, what may look like breakage in some photos is simply complex stepped faces that have epitaxial structures.

A gem clear rosette of undamaged Barite crystals on Rhodochrosite from Huanuco, Peru. This Barite find has produced many fine pieces over the past few years and is now well established as a modern classic locale. The blades of this Barite are perfectly clear, lustrous and are attached only by a small point on the crystalline Rhodochrosite matrix. Selected carefully from many pieces this one has superior form and condition.

two large, well formed and complete Chalcopyrite crystals perched esthetically on a crystallized Sphalerite matrix. While Chalcopyrite is not a rare mineral, very good crystals like these are very uncommon. These are in perfect undamaged condition reaching 4.3 CM and having a fine brassy patina, these are classic textbook crystals. On several faces are a sprinkle of tiny bright golden Pyrite crystals that add a nice sparkle. From Huaron Mining district of Peru this specimen is more than 20 years old, a fine heavy Sulfide piece that looks great from most any angle.

Thin glass-clear undamaged Barite crystals on a minimal matrix of Rhodochrosite and tiny Barites. A very clean and attractive small miniature with no damage. The Cerro Warihuyn find of Barites is simply incredible, there have been many choice pieces in several habits and colors. This specimen is a very pale yellow-green hue in the Barites which are perfectly transparent and seem almost colorless in person. These Barites are still an excellent value for quality and esthetics at a reasonable cost.

Dozens of tabular Apatite crystals are clustered on a contrasting crystallized Pyrite. These Apatites are a pale pink to violet color and vividly fluorescent. In choice condition, this specimen was collected in 2010 in what seemed to be a small but impressive find. The Huanzala Mine is famed for the incredible Pyrites and Fluorites that it has produced over the years. There have been a few small finds of Apatites however each discovery has been very different in terms of habit, color and form.
Bournonite - unusual non-twinned crystals

Bournonite is so often twinned or in classic "cogs-wheel" form that untwinned crystals are quite rare. This Quiruvilca (Peru) specimen is that unusual sort, here are many Bournonite crystals, some over 1.2 cm but no twins. In fine condition overall most crystals are perfect but with good magnification some small areas of rough edges are found. For this notoriously fragile specie that is impressive. Some bright golden pyrite adds contrast to the dark silver-metallic Bournonite. For some reason the Pyrite at Quiruvilca Mine is often especially bright and lustrous, it seems to be more stable than most and keeps the bright golden color much better than any other Pyrite I know. A fine addition to a serious Sulfide collection.
Tetrahedrite with Dolomite

A particularly esthetic Tetrahedrite with very sharp crystals over 3 CM. The main crystals are flattened Tetrahedra and have very good luster, distinct striations and a good metallic sheen. In fine condition, the front or main face is clean and undamaged, there is contacting on the back and outer side edges that is not seen on display. Impressive specimen of this usually non-esthetic Sulphide specie, Very choice for the locality and a fine Tetra from anyplace.
Selenite (golden gemmy)

The yellow to orange "golden" Selenites from Ica were rather common at mineral shows 20 years ago. There have not been new finds for some time and good, undamaged examples are now quite scarce. These still represent a very good value for a colorful, display quality specimen. This piece is from a small lot that has been in storage since the mid seventies. Sharp, glassy transparent crystals to 2.5 CM tall stand out from the matrix. In perfect condition, in person this is far more clear and very lustrous.
