A fan of terminated crystals of dark colored Samarskite nicely perched on a typical Pegmatite matrix. The crystals reach 3.5 CM and seem to be doubly terminated (lower termination is partly hidden by matrix). A nice example of this rare earth mineral from North Carolina, these are not often seen on the market from anyplace. Some adhering Mica is seen on a few faces which could be removed but it seems to add a very nice contrast to the dark Samarskite. In fine condition, usually these are rather crude crystals but this specimen is quite well defined.
