Ludlamite - fan crystals
stock #15.1-852
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
4.7 x 4.1 x 3.1 CM (miniature)
price: $850
Late Summer 2018

A rare miniature sized and very fine Ludlamite from the classic locale of Santa Eulalia. Excellent color, condition and with the desirable fan aggregates of crystals standing above the matrix. Most of what is seen from Santa Eulalia are thumbnails (which can be superb) but those too are very uncommon, they were found before 1985. This is a very large (miniature) specimen with fine form, luster and presentation. Between Santa Eulalia and the later Bolivian Ludlamite finds, these are the worlds best for the specie. Many of the Ludlamites from both locales have a rather unstable Sulphide matrix. This one seems to be very solid, stable with no rotting pyrite or other issues.
Pyrrhotite- partly altered crystals
stock #13.1086
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.4 x 2.9 x 2.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $125
Pre Holiday 2017

A well formed cluster of Pyrrhotite crystals showing the in process alteration on several faces. The terminations are unaltered and have the typical brassy color. This is a 1960 vintage specimen from Santa Eulalia which at that time produced many Pyrrhotites. These are now rare on the market. In good complete condition although the main crystal shows separations from altering, and would have eventually split apart, so this shows well a midstage transition.
Rhodochrosite with Calcite
stock #A-10-845
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
5.7 x 4.5 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $145
Pre Holiday 2017

An old (1960s vintage) and unusual Rhodochrosite from Santa Eulalia. The Rhodos are bright pink and very gemmy rhombs in small clusters and rosettes. A few white Calcites in rice grain form are sprinkled in and the whole rests on a contrasting greenish matrix that is a cast after what probably were earlier Calcite crystals. In fine condition.
SOLD Mimetite with Calcite
stock #SOLD 16.1-035
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
7.2 x 6.1 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $0
Post Tucson 2015

From a find over 40 years ago, this is an esthetic specimen showing perfect orange balls of Mimetite reaching 8mm scattered on matrix. The Calcite crystals are in several habits and add a nice sparkle for contrast. Not much resembling this was ever found and these are just not available. In fine condition.
Arsenopyrite Pseudo after Pyrrhotite
stock #Alec-10-741
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
7.3 x 5.5 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $1650

An exceptional, elegant Pseudomorph ex. Ed Swoboda's fine collection of Psuedos. Likely mined pre 1970, there is nothing like this on the market. Tapered, curving crystals of the original Pyrrhotites formed a very esthetic cluster and reached to 5.3 CM long. The replacement by Arsenopyrite seems to be complete and has a brilliant sparkling luster. Minor associated Sulphides are seen but this is almost entirely Arsenopyrite/ Pyrrhotite. In great condition as seen, this displays well from all angles. A fine addition to any Pseudo collection, Mexican or Sulphide suite,
Creedite (large purple crystals)
stock #Alec18-006
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
3.2 x 2.7 x 1.9 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $880
Spring 2014

A small specimen but with unusually large, perfect crystals of purple Creedite. An old (pre 1980) specimen from Santa Eulalia, that is now almost impossible to find in any quality. Quite different and much rarer than the orange Creedite from Durango, good Purple Creedite has only been found in crystals over 1 CM in two locations, Kazakhstan and Santa Eulalia. At about 2 CM long these are huge for the specie, undamaged, have great form and displays well from all sides.
Calcite enclosing Hematite (2 generations)
stock #11.1-37W
Santa Eulalia, Aguiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
7.5 x 5.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $360

From a small find in the 1970's this calcite is very esthetic and colorful. The matrix is a sparkling white to light yellow druse of Calcite covered with hills of deep red to black drusy crystals. A single later generation clear crystal is perched on one side and all is well arranged and eyecatching. A very pretty display quality specimen that is uncommon, unusual, undamaged and still affordably priced.
