stock #18-AX-19-167
Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County
New South Wales, Australia
5.2 x .8 x .4 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $390
Spring 2020

A perfect elongated spinel twin crystal forms the base for radiating smaller spinel twins that are epitaxially oriented. In pristine, undamaged condition this is a really unusual choice old Broken Hill (Australia) piece. The secondary crystals are mostly oriented in two lines or chains some of which form mirror copies of each other. The smaller crystals reach 1 CM and all have textbook perfect forms.
Chlorargyrite/Iodargyrite exceptionally well crystallized
stock #0590-JM-2663
Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County
New South Wales, Australia
7.8 x 5.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1450

Ex Yale University collection and JH Marshall. An exceptional old classic specimen! A big, showy, well crystallized and heavy specimen of these rare Silver Chloride/Iodide species. Broken hill has produced the very finest of these minerals and both species are well presented in crystals up to 4mm densely packed. A rich yellow to waxy green color, the specimen is sawn on the backside and shows the matrix as a pure translucent green Mass. The old Yale labels (included) call this Cerargyrite which was in use in the 1950s and earlier. Far better in person and price well below the tags we have seen on many lesser pieces.
