Adularia with Chlorite
stock #6.2-916
St Gotthard, Central St. Gotthard Massif, Leventina
Ticino, Switzerland
8.7 x 6.4 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Spring 2020

Fine Swiss Adularia crystals up to 2.4 CM with green zoned inclusions of Chlorite are well presented on the matrix. From the type locality (St Gotthard) Most of these crystals have a slight dusting of Chlorite on the outside as well but the majority of the faces are glassy and transparent. Very pleasing esthtetics from almost any angle this is a choice and showy specimen of a usually unimpressive specie. No damage which is incredible for a piece with this complexity. Excellent Alpine classic that shows the textbook monoclinc form perfectly.
Hematite (iron Rose) on Adularia
stock #A-9-037
St Gotthard, Central St. Gotthard Massif, Leventina
Canton Uri, Switzerland
5.3 x 5 x 2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $140
Spring 2020

A bright single flower of bladed Hematite contrasting nicely with sparkling Adularia crystals. An older "Eisenrose" this is sharp and displays well, the main rose being 1.3 CM across. A classic Alpine specimen when these are a bit larger they can be incredibly costly. This is a fine smaller piece (far more affordable) and could be trimmed to a fine thumbnail if desired.
Adularia - Classic alpine Manebach twin w. iridescence
stock #15.1-933-(SM2772)
St Gotthard, Central St. Gotthard Massif, Leventina
Ticino, Switzerland
8.3 x 5.1 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $385
Winter 2016-17

A large and fine old Swiss Orthoclase crystal that is a well formed Manebach twin with fine edge striations. Several older labels included date this back to the 19th century. This Adularia is very large, translucent to transparent and with textbook perfect form. From just the right angle the fine striations make an interesting display of diffraction colors and shows a rich iridescence. Classic and impressive.
