Chalcedony on red Scolecite
stock #18.1-006
Malegaon, Nasik
Maharashtra, India
5 x 3.6 x 3.2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $975
Worldwide mix summer

The "caviar agate" type of Chalcedony that is both very esthetic and now very hard to find. The transparent to translucent balls of Chalcedony are perched on needle crystals of a dark red Scolecite. They really do look like large fish eggs. Rich color and wet look luster make this specimen stand out. There were not many of these found and few had this very bright color. Strange but beautiful Indian specimen.

There is a lot of Manakarra "grape" Chalcedony in the market, but some specimens do stand out. This is complete piece, a floater, undamaged and with fine form. The color ranges from a brilliant wet look purple to a more subdued lilac hue. A dusting of tiny green Quartz adds extra sparkle. Very affordable for this quality, displays well on all sides

Malegaon, Nasik
Maharashtra, India
3 x 2.7 x 2.1 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))

Pre Holiday 2017

An unbelievable new find! We were able to obtain what so far are the best pieces of the small but impressive pocket in Malegon, Nasik, India. The red to orange Scolecite is in a rounded mass composed of radiating needles. An impressive matrix for the small spheres of Chalcedony (or technically agate) looking like fish eggs in multiple colors. These were named "caviar agate" shortly after they first appeared, and are an amazing companion to the "grape agates" from Indonesia. This has the caviar eggs on small needle-like stalks with excellent form, color and quality. Displays brilliantly under good light as seen in these photos. A fine addition to any suite of Quartz, Agates, Indian trap minerals or simply esthetics.

stock #ALEC-12-219
Las Plumas, Martires Dept.
Chubut, Argentina
6.8 x 6 x 4.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $150
Fall 2015

This quite attractive Psuedomorph has a lot of good provenance, ex Ed Swoboda, Carter Rich, George Loud, and William Hladyz. The shape of the large Aragonite crystals are sharply preserved and the color looks much like an Agate more so than Chalcydony. This is almost a perfect floater and despite a few very minor chips that are not easy to find the condition is still very fine overall. Classic older Pseudomorph not often available and rarely in anything close to this quality and esthetic.
