Wulfenite on Mimetite -New find
stock #18.1-546
San Carlos Mine, Municipio de Maunuel Benavidas
Chihuahua, Mexico
3.2 x 2.6 x 1 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $1250
Dec 2018

A killer toenail of fine orange-red Wulfenite with perfect, textbook form. The contrasting matrix of Mimetite adds a great contrast. From the new find at San Carlos Mine, this is unusual as it is perfect, undamaged and well trimmed. This was a small but important find, the mine previously was known only for some fine Vanadinites decades ago, these new Wulfenites were a big surprise. This was the best in this size that we saw and it is much more impressive in person. Can be trimmed to a fine competition grade thumbnail, but certainly looks fine as is.
Wulfenite with Calcite & Mimetite. - New find
stock #18.1-552
San Carlos Mine, Municipio de Maunuel Benavidas
Chihuahua, Mexico
3.4 x 2.3 x 2 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $390
Dec 2018

From the exciting new finds at the San Carlos Mine, choice gem clear Wulfenites resting on glass clear Calcites and yellow Mimetites balls. The Mimetites are also included inside the Calcite, especially impressive under magnification. In perfect condition by naked eye, micro damage can be seen at 20X magnification, this is certainly not significant and is essentially perfect especially for this delicate mineral habit of the beveled edge blades. We have handled a lot of this find and this habit, color and association is unusual and very esthetic. Better in person too.
SOLD Wulfenite on Quartz- new find
stock #SOLD 18.1-544
San Carlos Mine, Municipio de Maunuel Benavidas
Chihuahua, Mexico
3.9 x 3.4 x 1.7 CM (small miniature)

Dec 2018

From an exciting small new (2018) find, bright gem Wulfenites set on contrasting Quartz crystals. In excellent condition as seen, this has top transparency, bright luster and is overall super esthetic. From San Carlos, a mine only known for Vanadinites that had come out almost 20 years ago. Choice and pretty, we hope to see more from here but nothing is ever certain in guessing the future of a particular locale. This is one of the very best specimens of about three hundred produced.
Agate (Laguna) polished nodule
stock #18.1-596
Ojo Laguna, Estacion Ojo Laguna, Municipio de Ahumada
Chihuahua, Mexico
4.2 x 4 x 1.2 CM (miniature)
price: $280
Dec 2018

Laguna Agates are unique in their colors and distinctive patterns. These are highly prized and usually very expensive in larger sizes. This smaller sized specimen is from an older find several decades ago, and has vivid intense color contrast. Such perfect form and color pallet in a larger cabinet size would be a solid 4 figure specimen. A great value for a reasonably priced but perfectly beautiful nodule.

Dec 2018

Laguna Agates are unique in their colors and distinctive patterns. These are highly prized and often very expensive in larger sizes. This smaller sized specimen is from an older find several decades ago, and has vivid intense color contrast. Such perfect form (with intact edges and rind) showing such a color pallet in a larger cabinet size would be a solid 4 figure specimen. A great value for a reasonably priced but perfectly beautiful nodule.

Laguna Agates are unique in their colors and distinctive patterns. These are highly prized and usually very expensive in larger sizes. This smaller sized specimen is from an older find several decades ago, and has vivid intense color contrast. Such perfect form and color pallet in a larger cabinet size would be many times this price. A great value for a reasonably priced but perfectly beautiful nodule.
Anglesite -very large crystal, classic locale
stock #15.1-675
Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos
Chihuahua, Mexico
4.3 x 3.2 x 1.2 CM (miniature)
price: $675
Dec 2018

For the Ahumada mine (los Lamentos) this is a huge crystal of Anglesite for that mine, and is partly altered to Cerussite on the surface. Ex Johansson collection, this is an older piece, pre 1940. In very good condition and well terminated as seen, (crudely doubly terminated) the crystal has retained the textbook form of the Anglesite. Los Lamentos is world famed for fine Wulfenite, Vanadinite and Descloisite but other Lead secondaries have been found over the long history of the mine. Large crystals of Anglesite are usually up to 2 CM, but at 4.3 CM this is one of the largest I have ever seen. A choice and substantial Mexican classic.
Wulfenite with Calcite, Quartz etc
stock #18.1-283
Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos
Chihuahua, Mexico
8.2 x 4.9 x 4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $375
Late Summer 2018

Dozens of lustrous wet-look Wulfenites are clustered in recesses on a complex matrix. Several of the Wulfenites are transparent on close exam, and they contrast well with the Calcite, Dolomite and a few colorless Quartz crystals. Most of the specimen is in fine condition but close (10x magnification) finds some small areas of chipping. By eye a strong display piece with good contrast and color. Ex Immer Cook collection, this was obtained from Schortmanns Minerals more than 40 years ago.
