Fluorite - clear dodecahedral crystals with internal crystals
stock #17.1-194
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
4.4 x 3.8 x 3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $675
Dec 2018

A textbook perfect miniature specimen with an impact far bigger than its size. While the external form is outstanding, the insides of the Fluorites clearly show incredible, sharp, inclusions of perfect pink Dolomite rhombs. The matrix of Dolomite, Calcite and Sphalerite adds nice contrast to the glassy Fluorites. In perfect condition damage-wise which is very rare. Some faces show a secondary etching while others are perfectly smooth and transparent. The 26 sided crystals are a perfect model for this less common habit. Best appreciated in person, a very choice example of why Huanggang is the most significant mineral locality in China today.
Calcite balls with Quartz and Actinolite
stock #16.1-177
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
7.2 x 5.5 x 3 CM (cabinet)
price: $190
Dec 2018

A remarkable and strange Calcite formed of spherical clusters of flat crystals. The balls are connected in a chain and these are covered with bright sparkling Quartz in tiny doubly terminated clear crystals much like Herkimer Diamonds. A scattering of Hairlike Actinolite crystals are seen with magnification impaling both the Quartz and Calcite. Choice and in excellent condition, the esthetics are impressive. Another of the mineral wonders from the incredible deposits at Huangang.
Fluorite (blue) on Quartz
stock #18-AX-29-014
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
8.3 x 4.3 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $690
Late Summer 2018

One of the best newer things to come from Inner Mongolia are these inky blue Fluorite crystals covering milky Quartz crystals. This one is a very choice example in fine condition and with strong esthetics. We examined hundreds of specimens from this find but only selected a few few based on composition, condition and overall quality. This has the most intense color of any. I consider this association one of the best new mineral finds of the past few years and of course the supply is not infinite. In strong lighting the Fluorites really glow a deep indigo, and this example has very well formed complex crystals to 2 cm in size. The pair of sharp hexagonal terminations of the milky Quartz that poke out of the top are an especially nice touch. We have a nice selection of these in all price ranges, this one is a far better than average and good value. Super example of the find, and a very striking display specimen.
Ilvaite on Quartz
stock #18-AX-15-286
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
7 x 4.9 x 4.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $360
Late Summer 2018

The Inner Mongolian region finds in the past few years re-defined how we look at Ilvaite, these were huge news in the mineral world. This specimen is sharp and quite lustrous, the Ilvaite is undamaged and sits on greenish quartz needles (likely included by Hedenbergite). Very esthetic (for a black mineral, this is exceptional) the form is textbook and the contrast with the matrix is choice. These better pieces are world class for the specie and still very affordable, a good time to add a good example before these inevitably disappear. .
Pentahydroborite with Wurtzite
stock #18-AX-32-221
Shijiangshan Mine, Linxi, Ulanhad League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
3.8 x 2.6 x 1.7 CM (small miniature)
price: $140

Pentahydroborite is a rare Hydrous Calcium Borate, that has only been found a few times in very few widely scattered small deposits. The most recent finds were in the 1990s in Japan and in a single pocket in 2014 in Inner Mongolia. There have been no more since. This piece is well crystallized and is in excellent undamaged condition from Inner Mongolia. There is a little Wurtzite that adds some contrast as well. The crystals are in two different habits and some are in leafy groupings.
Fluorite, Helvite and Lollingite
stock #A-14B-117
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
8.9 x 7.9 x 4.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $3600
Worldwide mix summer

A crazy but extraordinary piece, of a superb quality that is rarely available on the web, Complex, with colorless transparent Fluorites perched on very sharp Lollingite crystals. A few of the Fluorites have inclusions of Helvite crystals and there are fine rosettes of Helvite crystals on the Lollingite as well. In outstanding condition, this can displays in many orientations with strong impact. From the first significant discovery at Huanggang, the form of the Fluorite is textbook perfect. Superb in person, a very choice top Chinese specimen.
Danalite/ Genthelvite/ Helvite- Rosette cluster
stock #17.1-192
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
3.7 x 3.6 x 2.6 CM (miniature)
price: $2400
Spring update

Simply a killer with perfect form, zoned crystals are arranged in a radiating cluster. These three species are found together as zoned sections of individual crystals at this site. This find at Huanggang (Inner Mongolia) have redefined these species and are widely regarded as the worlds best. The tips of these crystals are translucent and show some internal zoning but the overall display quality of this piece is why this is so exceptional. Helvite and Genthelvite are fairly rare but known from several locales. However good Danalite is ultra rare worldwide these rank as world class crystals.
Fluorite on Lollingite
stock #A-11-017
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhead League
Inner Mongolia Region, China
3.6 x 3.2 x 1.7 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $280
Pre Holiday 2017

Well-formed transparent Fluorite on crystalline blades of Lollingite in an attractive arrangement. A fine example from the Inner Mongolian finds at the Huanggang Mine. The display surface is perfect and undamaged, the back of the Fluorite has a clean geometric contact but is undamaged. The Lollingite from here is certainly some of the best ever found, the addition of fine Fluorite makes this miniature especially attractive.
