A fine sharp blue Topaz crystal from the old classic St. Anne mine in Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia). Especially clear and mostly gem grade throughout, the termination is complete with some complex pitting that shows geometric stepping and faces this may look like damage in photos but is not. The blocky habit is distinctive and has very lustrous faces, this is 5.2 CM across the diagonal, and weighs a stout 99.5 grams. Pre 1970 vintage but likely far older, these were at one time the worlds best natural, untreated blue topaz and few survived cutting. A choice specimen from this historic locale. In person the blue color is a little deeper than the photos show.
