pre Tucson 2015 update

A rich crystallized plate of uncommon Japanese Pyromorphite, ex John Marshall collection. John obtained this specimen about 1962 as he was building his famed suite of worldwide Pyros. It is likely much older. These are rare to see on the market, and quite prized when available. The crystal coverage is dense over a 5 CM area, with a nice olive green color. Maximum size of individual crystals is 6 mm, the average perhaps 3-4mm with moderate luster. The backside of the specimen is also covered with crystals, tho not as dense and with smaller individuals so it is the back. A skilled trimmer could make 2 specimens if wanted. The condition of the front side crystals is mostly good but magnification shows a few broken crystals. Despite this it is a fine display piece from an uncommon locale.
