From the find 3 years ago in the almost unpronounceable locale of Boekenhoutshoek, Mkobola. This is the sought after deep purple color that has not been found in more recent digging there. This small cabinet piece has excellent form and color. "Cactus" habit quartz are usually much more pale or are not even purple. The royal purple this piece has is the most uncommon and most desired. In fine undamaged condition,

The deep purple is the most desired (and most expensive) of all the "Cactus" quartz They have not been found in any of the last years of mining. This one is that rich color and has great luster. From the front and sides this is perfectly undamaged. A tiny chip exists on the back of one termination that does not show, yet this keeps the price much lower that would be otherwise.

South African "cactus" quartz is a popular commodity in the mineral market, but the deeper purple hues are the most rare and few are available. This deep hued specimen is in perfect undamaged condition with great form and shows the termination "star" of zoned purple that is most desirable. Good cactus Quartz is one of the bargains of the mineral world.
