Sphalerite -
stock #16.1-175
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
5.7 x 1.5 x 1.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $360
Dec 2018

A super exotic, rare habit for Sphalerite to be in a column. Often called Stalactitic (not technically correct as there is no sign of a hollow central canal) these are very rare and the crystals are aligned in a remarkable way. In fine undamaged condition and with mirror bright luster, in person a slight twist can be seen as well. Choice and a modern classic from the great Dalnegorsk.
Quartz -included by Hedenbergite on Andradite
stock #18-AX-12-231
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
4.7 x 3.1 x 3.7 CM (miniature)
price: $110
Late Summer 2018

A scepter-like Quartz rises from a matrix of tiny orange Andradite Garnets. The Quartz is a deep blue-green, being thickly included by Hedenbergite (some of which sticks out of the Quartz). In fine condition- a cute miniature with a nice contrast. choice specimen that is affordable and esthetic.
Quartz with Pyrite
stock #16.1-387-CN1997
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
9.3 x 6.8 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $750
Late Summer 2018

A very esthetic specimen ex Charles Noll collection. This is a bit of a mystery, The labels attribute this to Dalngorsk and the dusting of Pyrite looks just like some tiny pyrite found there on white Calcite, but this is on Milky Quartz in doubly terminated prisms. I can not find any other examples with this look, so we have tried to confirm the locality. I have been told this was probably from one of the very first waves of specimens to come from Russia which had many oddities not seen again. This fits with the collection vintage, and would make this a very special addition to any fine Dalngorsk suite. The quartz are doubly terminated, perfect all around and are epitaxially coated with tiny Pyrite crystals. An attractive arrangement and striking specimen unlike anything we have seen from any locale worldwide.
Meterorite- Sikote Alin
stock #0091-JM-1851
Paseka Village, Sikhote-Alin Mountains
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
4.3 x 3.1 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $190
Late Summer 2018

A choice 53 Gram Sihkote-Alin meteorite that shows the pitting, ablation and fusion crusts on all sides, a so called "complete individual". This is one of the most famed meteorite falls from 1947, the resulting Iron meteorite specimens are the coarsest octahedrites known. This piece has sharp and distinct "thumbprints" and the dark color and luster for this fall. Ex John Marshall collection.
Quartz - Cumberland habit on Scepter
stock #17.AX-747
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
3 x 1.8 x 1.5 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $260
Pre Holiday 2017

Thumbnail of Cumberland (often called Beta Quartz) habit that is esthetically perched on a scepter stalk. The shaft is covered with Chlorite and tiny Quartzes also. The cap is in fine condition, showing complex growth patterns on some faces. The shaft is broken only at the base where it was removed and not visible in mounted display. A super quality competitive thumbnail that looks fine from any angle.
Fluorite- Ice cube habit on Calcite etc.
stock #17.1-AX14-335
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
4.8 x 4.4 x 3.4 CM (miniature)
price: $460
new june 17

Looking like partially melted ice cubes these are ultra clear habit Fluorites found at Dalngorsk more the 15 years ago. In excellent condition the Fluorites up to 2 CM are nicely contrasted with the matrix. It is difficult to photograph the gem clear perfection, the matrix is perfectly seen right through the crystals. Some very clear Fluorites still come out of this locale, but none are as clear as those from this older find, now a modern classic discovery. Super glasslike luster with no signs of frosting on the faces, even better in person.
Calcite xls with Siderite coating
stock #15.1-414
Dalnegorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
6.8 x 5.6 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $280
Post Tucson 2015

A delicate and very attractive Dalngorsk oddity. Thin Calcite crystals showing multi phase hexagonal structures that are coated with iridescent Siderite. The luster and color are especially attractive. Some few edges have very small chips, most are pristine and overall this displays well. A few tiny Siderite pseudo after calcite balls are on the matrix as well. There were not many of these found and none to be seen on the market now.
Datolite
stock #15.1-413
Verhniy mine, Dalngorsk
Primorsky Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia
6.5 x 6.3 x 4.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Post Tucson 2015

An attractive, fine specimen of older Dalngorsk Datolites. Transparent lustrous crystals with orange-brown phantoms in greenish prisms cover the matrix in an esthetic arrangement. Individual crystals are up to 2.9 CM, this sort of Datolite was rare when first found, and has not been available for several year.
