Mimetite with Wulfenite
stock #13.1-143
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm (miniature)
price: $300

Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite and yellow wulfenite crystals to 1 CM from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The Wulfenites are an added bonus. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. Most piece had a lot of damage and few had good wulfenites. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. This specimen has some damage that can be seen with a careful study, but is limited and far better than 90 percent. Fine display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.
Thomsonite-Ca
stock #ALEC-6-071
Shakur Quarry - Nasik District
Maharashtra, India
9 x 7.5 x 4.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $780

A simple yet impressively esthetic Thomsonite with 2 perfect spheres of reddish orange crystals reaching 4 CM across. Very 3 dimensional piece this displays super well from most any angle, there is no damage. We do not offer Indian zeolites unless they are something really special, this is an especially attractive, colorful piece and surprisingly pretty for what is usually a dull white mineral.
Calcite with Sphalerite (ruby jack), and Dolomite, Pyrite etc.
stock #9.1-151
Joplin Field, Tri State District, Jasper County
Missouri, United States
11.8 x 7.7 x 5.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $975

A fine piece from an American classic locality, the Tristate Joplin area. This was once a great producer of good minerals, it is now long gone and high quality pieces have become very scarce. This esthetic and unusually colorful piece has a 6 CM twinned butterscotch calcite contrasting with ruby red Sphalerites. In great condition, 1940s vintage specimen this is piece would have been far better than average back when these were plentiful. Today this quality is almost never seen.
Pyromorphite -Elongated, curved and stacked crystals
stock #Alec-21-039
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
4.8 x 2 x .9 CM (miniature)
price: $460

An amazingly long, curved chain growth of Pyromorphite that is a fine 360 degree display piece. Sharp, lustrous and in great condition this is a great example of this rare and esthetic habit. From finds at Daoping in 2008 this type of Pyro was a big surprise in the mineral world, the habit is uncommon and never before in such large crystals. Every side shows complex striations and the piece is a floater , it has crystallized on every side. Already a classic locality, this mine has reset the world standard for fine pyromorphite.
Pyromorphite- Hoppered
stock #Alec 21-037
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guangxi Autonomous Region, China
3.5 x 2.3 x 1.7 CM (miniature)
price: $295

A 360 degree floater cluster of sharp, intensely colored Pyromorphites with an esthetic arrangement. A small treasure from the great Daoping mine, this has very fine luster and is translucent to transparent. Overall in fine condition a tiny zone of damage is noted that can be seen with close inspection, so this is not for perfectionists. For everyone else this is a very pretty and affordable Pyro with an unusual habit.
Wulfenite & Mimetite
stock #ALEC-18-071
Ojuela Mine, Mapami
Durango, Mexico
6 x 3.5 x 2.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $950

A bright, delicate and colorful Wulfenite with rare greenish yellow color. Bright green balls of Mimetite decorate the piece from from Vintage 1960's finds. Despite the exceptional delicacy of this piece the condition is quite good, there are some broken parts of a few crystals but they can be minimized or hidden by display angle. Overall this has a of of impact for its size. This color and habit are no longer available, something special for any Wulfenite suite or Mexican suite.
Calcite on Flourite
stock #ALEC-20-158
Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County
Illinois, United States
6.8 x 5 x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $260

Delicate and esthetic slender crystals of calcite are perched in a jackstraw jumble on purple Fluorite. Despite a few cleaved tips this still displays super well. Classic old time specimen, this sort of material is now quite uncommon.
Hydroboracite
stock #ALEC-22-136
Inder B deposit & salt dome
Atyrau Province, Kazakhstan
9 x 6 x 3.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $480

An unusually large and very colorful crystallized plate of Hydroboracite from Kazakstan. Hydroboracite is usually an unimpressive specie, pale in color, but this has considerable eye appeal for a rare mineral. Ex Marshall Sussmann this has by far the most intense color I have seen.
