Grossular (pink stacked crystals with micro Diopside)
stock #17.AL-501
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
4.2 x 4 CM (miniature)
price: $245
Spring 2014

Grossular from the defunct Jeffrey mine is considered some of the worlds best, especially in the rarer colors. Pink is particularly desirable and quite uncommon. This specimen is especially bright, lustrous and has strong color. The small crystals are well formed, sharp and distinctly aligned in sheets and plates giving a nice overall arrangement. Displays well from several angles, most crystals are perfect with only a few damaged ones found with magnification, and not at all noticable. A very good value.
Brazilianite (older USA specimen)
stock #A10-1059
GE Smith Mine (Chandler's Mills) Newport, Sullivan County
New Hampshire, United States
5.8 x 3.9 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $80
Spring 2014

Brazilianite crystals of any size from outside Brazil are rare. This New Hampshire USA specimen has a main crystal prism 1.3 CM across and many smaller in a cluster that is about 3.2 CM across. For a non Brazilian piece this is darned good speciemn of this unusual phosphate. Collected in the late 60's these are not seen very often anymore.
Elbaite (unusual multi color tourmaline)
stock #A7-158-534
Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill,Mesa Grande District, San Diego County
California, United States
4.8 x .8 CM (miniature)
price: $270
Spring 2014

An older stacked growth multi-color crystal cluster ex Larry White collection. There are several individual terminations on this piece and all are perfect, undamaged. With good magnification it is also possible to see several tiny side car crystals that have blue terminations! The color sequence and habit is unusual for the Himalaya mine, the blue terminations however are distinctive. This specimen is at least 45 years old.
Copper (flattened octahedral crystal tree form)
stock #A7-048-647
White Pine Mine, Ontonagan County
Michigan, United States
8.4 x 6.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Spring 2014

An impressive, fully crystallized "tree" with elegant form and very sharp Spinel twin branches. Very few examples are so well formed, sharp and distinct. A relatively old piece (pre 1965's) from the classic White Pine Mine. The habit and form is unmistakable from this unique deposit. Excellent esthetics and top notch quality that is impossible to find on the market today. Far better in person!
