Fluorite on Sphalerite
Elmwood Mine, Carthage
4.5 x 3 x 2.9 CM (miniature)
Sharp multi-stepped and transparent light purple cube of Fluorite perched on a dark Sphalerite matrix. From the Elmwood mine, a classic example that is pristine and very attractive. No damage seen and with incredible geometric steps. Esthetic yet affordable.
From what is commonly called Eden Mills, this is a very unusual combination. A single scalenohedron of Calcite hosts a lustrous Epidote crystal and sprays of clear Natrolite crystals as well. In good condition overall, the Epidote is broken on one end but fine otherwise, good magnifications reveals chipping on the Natrolites but is not naked-eye visible.
Serandite with Natrolite etc.
Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire
4.3 x 2.8 x 2.7 CM (miniature)
Colorful and complex specimen with several Serandite crystals in different habits mixed with an assemblage of classic MSH minerals. Loaded with many small crystals on all sides this has the deeper orange color of early finds that is unlike the later pinkish ones.
