A single crystal of Anglesite in the pointed habit that has had some dissolution pockets near the base that are now filled with crystallized Arsentsumebite and Mottramite. Nice color contrast and a pearly luster on the Anglesite add character. Some minor bruises exist at 10 magnificatrion these look like typical bruising but at 40X magnification it seems some of this is partly recrystallized so these are more likely semi-healed old in-situ damage or contacts. A nice piece with a rather uncommon association.
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
5.9 x 3.1 x 2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
Well exposed vug filled with perfect yellow acicular form Legrandites. Unlike many pieces these are free standing crystals not laying in the matrix. A choice piece with strong esthetics and color. Small globs of greenish Adamite are present as well, this is an older specimen dating back to the earliest finds at Ojuela.
Lustrous oil-green prisms are well presented on the contrasting Actinolite. From a less well known Northeastern US locality (the Ore Hill mine, Warren, NH) Ex Bob Whitmore collection, the condition is excellent.Choice piece from an uncommon locale.
stock #15.1-1000 (SM415)
Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker Dist., Jerada Province
Oujada-Angad Province, Oriental Region,
3.7 x 2.1 x 1.2 CM (miniature)
A very good classic habit Touissit Anglesite that is the natural color "lemon" hue. Very lustrous and sharp some small contacts and chips are there but still the quality and condition is far above average, and still relatively affordable. More transparent that is seen in the photos, these have now become quite rare and pricey in this quality. A good value. Ex Charles M. Noll collection.
Andradite with Actinolite (Uralite)
Stanley Mine, Graham Co.
3.4 x 2.7 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
Unusually sharp, isolated and nicely composed, this is a lot more esthetic than most specimens from this well known locale. No damage, 3 dimensional specimen that can easily be trimmed to make a fine thumbnail.
Sharp, gem-clear bi color Vesuvianite crystal from the great Jeffrey mine. The range of color and habit of Jeffrey Vesuvianites is incredible, they considered the worlds best and quite prized. This is a well formed thumbnail with fine luster and an unusual color palette.
The Daoping area finds of Plumbogummite have been extraordinary, by far the best quality ever seen. this specimen is an esthetic treelike cluster of former Pyros which are sizable and well formed. The replacement with a powder blue to yellow green Plumbogummite seems to be complete. In excellent condition, a choice piece of a modern classic find.
