Serandite on Natrolite, Analcime, Mangan-Neptunite and Albite etc.
stock #Alec 35-121-XXX
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
7.7 x 5.2 x 5 CM (cabinet)
price: $380
Winter 2016-17

Intense salmon-orange color Serandite crystals are nicely perched on a contrasting white matrix. From pre 1980 finds at Mt. St Hillare, later specimens were not so bright. The Serandite at the "top" of the piece is doubly terminated, has a few contacts and great luster. Other crystals on the piece are a little cruder and more encased in the matrix, but are sizable. The worlds best specimens all came from this quarry and now that it is closed there will be no more. A classic mix of Alkali minerals on this specimen that are actually attractive. Ex S Alverson collection.
Calcite (extra gemmy on fossil Clam shell)
stock #17.1-AX- 19-107
Rucks Pit, Fort Drum, Okeechobee
Florida, United States
6.9 x 5 x 3.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $600
Winter 2016-17

An exceptional specimen the most perfect, colorful and gemmy Calcite I have seen from the closed Rucks Pit fossil clam locality. From early finds at this now classic location, an ex Arkenstone specimen, the luster and transparency are hard to capture in a photo. A small amount of the original clamshell fossil forms the base of this piece, the crystals had grown inside the clam but are now exposed. Unlike most of the thousands of specimens from here this is in the top .001 percent!
Wulfenite on Gibbsite (rare association)
stock #Alec 15-053
Baoshan Prefecture
Yunnan, China
7 x 5.5 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
Winter 2016-17

An attractive, delicate and rich color Gibbsite is host to dozens of sharp Wulfenite crystals. This is the only specimen of this rare association that I have ever seen. Ex. Shields Flynn collection which he obtained from Bert Ottens. In perfect condition, this would be a really fine Gibbsite even without the Wulfenites. Displays well from many angles. Choice!
Spodumene- Green
stock #A-19-336
Laghman
Laghman Province, Afghanistan
6 x 4.5 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $290
Winter 2016-17

An older Afghan gemmy Spodumene crystal that seems to be color stable as this is over 15 years old. This blocky compound crystal has 3 distinct terminations at one end and a crude complex termination on the other. Overall in very good condition damage wise there is some minor contacting. The "hiddenite" name is often used for green Spodumene but that name should be reserved for the type locality. A rather big gem crystal of 164 Grams, this is much larger than could be found from the original locality. A very good value.
