Vesuvianite -textbook crystals on matrix
stock #Alec 19-252
Sierra de la Cruz, Municipio de Sierra Mojada
Coahuila, Mexico
8.7 x 4.4 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $110
Spring 2017

These Vesuvianites are nearly all equant, doubly terminated with a textbook form. Well exposed by etching from contrasting white matrix these are a pleasing golden hue with lustrous surfaces. Back in the 70s these were all labeled Lago de Jaco, but now the correct locale is known to be Sierra de Las Cruz. Most crystals are quite perfect but several have cracked and rehealed or have cracked and split apart while inside the matrix. A good example with many small crystals up to 8MM.
Anapaite- type locality.
stock #Alec 12-192
Zheleznyl Rog, Anapa, Taman Peninsula
Krasnodarskly Kray, Russia
6.6 x 4.9 x 4.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $130
Spring 2017

A good color Anapaite from the type location. This unusual Hydrated Phosphate mineral is sometimes found in association with fossil clams. This specimen has a few Clam fossil segments on the matrix but is mostly about the sheaves of sharp crystals in tight clusters. There is some bruising seen with magnification as is typical but many crystals are quite distinct, perfect and show very good green color. An affordable, moderately rare and attractive specimen.
Cerussite Reticulated twins -classic USA Locale
stock #17.1-AX-551-548
Mammoth Mine, Tiger, Arizona
Arizona, United States
4.9 x 4.3 x 3.1 CM (miniature)
price: $440
Spring 2017

An excellent Tiger Cerussite with classic form, formerly in the Larry White collection, obtained from Shields Flynn. In good condition overall, there is also some chipping damage that can be seen. These bruises are forgivable on such a well formed classic Arizona piece, especially from Tiger. Essentially all of the specimen is Cerussite in twinned habit, there is a small zone of adhering matrix and a painted number from the White collection. Q
Calcite- classic British
stock #16.1-1270
Bigrigg mine, West Cumberland Iron field
Cumberland, Cumbria, England
3.1 x 1.7 x 1.6 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $140
Spring 2017

A clear sharp single scalenohedron from the famed Bigrigg mine. From an older European collection this is at least 80 years old but likely much older. There is a number attached that could be removed if desired. Quite clean by naked eye but some contacts and rough bits found with magnification, all under 1mm. Not perfect but looks it, and not expensive as is often the case with these old
Adamite- Cuprian ex Marty Zinn
stock #12.1-262
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
6.8 x 5.3 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $400
Spring 2017

An outstanding Ojuela Adamite, with sharp glassy undamaged crystals on contrasting matrix. This is not the crumbly type gossan but a solid specimen with the Adamites well protected in a vug. In person the color is a little deeper and more intense than in the photos. This quality has not been seen for a few years. Former Marty Zinn piece, choice.
