Pyromorphite - Classic locale
stock #0209-JM-1739
Red Gill Mine, Roughton Gill, Caldbeck Fells
Cumberland, Cumbria, England
3.3 x 3.1 x 2.3 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $380
Late Summer 2018

An extraordinary specimen for this locale. A super three dimensional very old Red Gill specimen, Ex. Ecole des Mines (Paris), Phil Scalisi and John Marshall collections. The crystals are free standing up to 1.6 CM and very lustrous. Older labels and collection card are included. Red Gill is famed for its Linarites and Caledonites, but its Pyromorphites are very rare, often with much smaller crystals. I have not seen a better Pyro specimen from this mine.
Pyromorphite -Rare locality
stock #0694-JM-554
Electric Point Mine, Gladstone Mountain, Leadpoint, Stevens County
Washington, United States
4.2 x 3.7 x 2.8 CM (miniature)
price: $110
Late Summer 2018

This is the only Pyromorphite I have seen from this locality, therefore I could say it is the best one I have EVER seen! Actually it is fairly rich, a nearly pure piece of Pyro, but clearly not fine display grade, with modest crystals and some vugs of botryoidal crusts. Ex John Marshall Pyromorphite Suite obtained by trade with the Royal Ontario Museum in 1972. A rare locality piece with good color and some nice areas.
Rauenthalite- type locale
stock #18-AX-10-695
Gabe Gottes Mine, Ste-Marie-aux-Mines, Haut Rhin
Alsace, France
5.7 x 3.5 x 2.3 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $70
Late Summer 2018

From the type locale at Ste-Marie-Aux-Mines, several areas of white acicular crystals scattered on matrix. Not an esthetic specie (though not really ugly either...), but rare, and an unusually large piece, most specimens are small, often under 1mm. Ex William Hladysz collection.
Pyromorphite and Mimetite - Classic Locale
stock #1040-JM-753
Driggith Opencut, Caldbeck Fells, (Cumberland)
Cumberland, Cumbria, England
6.5 x 5.4 x 5.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $330
Late Summer 2018

A richly crystalized specimen in fine condition collected in 1970 by John Marshall. John notes on his collection card " Found in the north end of the open cut above Driggith Mine on West Fell. Specimens in the south end tested Mimetite but this is deeper green and more Pyromorphite in shape". These crystals are far larger than average and the condition is excellent. Sadly this quality has not been found for decades, John spend many weeks digging in this zone and this was his best specimen. A very fine Driggith piece.
Sphalerite and Calcite
stock #18. AX-353
ZCA Corp./Hyatt Mine, Talcville, St. Lawrence Co.
New York, United States
3 x 2.4 x 1.7 CM (thumbnail)
price: $320
Late Summer 2018

Gem clear crystals of honey colored Sphalerite with a few small white Calcites as accent on massive matrix. Very fine large thumbnail with fine bright luster. Better in person, these are now a modern US classic, but not often available. Ex. Hladysz collection, several crystals show pronounced smooth curved faces.
