Sierra de la Cruz, Municipio de Sierra Mojada
Coahuila, Mexico
4.5 x 3.1 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $90
Spring 2017

A complete "floater" of doubly terminated Vesuvianite that is textbook perfect, from what was long called Lago de Jaco in Coahuila, Mex. but is now considered to be Sierra de la Cruz. This has a fine and long pedigree, it has labels from Neal Yedlin, Ron Bentley, Bud Webster etc. No damage, a few crude Grossular are sprinkled on the prism faces. Likely vintage 1960s, no more have been found for decades.

Santa Rosa Mine, Itambacuri, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3.8 x 2.4 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $80
Winter 2016-17

A colorful jumble of green Elbaite crystals offset by bits of purple Lepidolite. Very nice luster, moderate damage as seen on some crystals keeps this a very affordable specimen.

Chalcotrichite with Copper
stock #15.1-883
Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts., Cochise Co.
Arizona, United States
4.3 x 4.2 x2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $90
Fall 2015

Old Bisbee specimen has three vugs with Cuprite V. Chalcotrichite crystals with typical bright red color. Ex. Rocksmith specimen, there are a few tiny bits of Native copper and some calcite crystals that seem to have copper inclusions too. Classic material, this small piece is relatively affordable for one of these.

Calcite on Marcasite w. Dolomite

Benchmark Quarry, St. Johnsville, Montgomery County
New York, United States
4.8 x 3.1 x 2.3 CM (miniature)
price: $45
Fall 2015

Very cute, affordable and in good condition from the Benchmark quarry collected by Bill Hladysz many years ago. A single Calcite prism is perched on a Dolomite and Marcasite matrix with a few micro Pyrites as well. These are modern NY classic specimens.

Calcite w. Marcasite & Dolomite
stock #AX-17-1073
Benchmark Quarry, St. Johnsville, Montgomery County
New York, United States
4.7 x 3.2 x 2.9 CM (miniature)
price: $95
Fall 2015

Amber colored Calcite crystals are prominently perched on a crystallized Dolomite matrix. In fine condition with rich color and above average clarity, this was collected by Bill Hladysz many years ago. The Benchmark Quarry is now something of a modern NY state classic locality. Affordable and pretty.

Barite
stock #AX-27-244
Cerro Warihuyn - Miraflores, Huamalies Prov.
Huanuco Department, Peru
4.8 x 2.8 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $90
Post Tucson 2015

One of the best mineral bargains of the past few years is the Barites of Cerro Warihuyn. These are sharp, gemmy and attractive, excellent examples of the specie and very affordable. The matrix is a contrasting Rhodochrosite that presents the crystals well.

Carbonate-Apatite - var. Dahllite
stock #15.1-055
Little Mountain District, Big Horn County
Wyoming, United States
3.5 x 3.2 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $50
pre Tucson 2015 update

An oddity in the Apatite family, this form of Carbonate rich apatite is not seen very often. This specimen is well over 30 years old from a small find, it shows well the structure and form, it is a bit similar (with some notable differences) to Ukrainian nodules. Rare and in fine condition.

Fluorite on Galena
stock #15.1-092
Naica Mine. Naica, Municipio de Saucillo
Chihuahua, Mexico
6.6 x 4.2 x 5.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $80
pre Tucson 2015 update

A nice, clear example of the classic Naica Mine Fluorite with beveled edge cubes on contrasting Galena. Some back edge chips are noted so this is priced to be especially affordable but it displays like a much more expensive piece.
