Spessartine on Quartz
Tongbei, Yunxiao County, Zhangzhou Prefecture
9.3 x 7.6 CM (cabinet)
The great Spessartine from Tongbei has proven to be one of the most prolific finds for the past decade. However it is hard to find a REALLY great example. This is an outstanding, superb piece! A large main (9.3 CM tall) quartz and a smaller side crystal have the prism faces completely jacketed in brilliant sparkling garnet. The terminations are however uncovered and these are also overgrown with epitaxial quartz growths. Sharp with brilliant color, gemmy spessartine striking esthetics and undamaged. From a singular 2009 find, this is far beyond the quality of 99.9% and a top display specimen!
A super esthetic, fine Fluorite from the exciting new finds in Inner Mongolia. Rare quality and in perfect undamaged condition, the main Fluorite is 4.2 CM across and the matrix can be seen through the clear crystal. The quartz is also gemmy, in some cases sceptered with unknown green inclusions. As good as I have seen so far from this zone, and a great value.
It may be difficult to really see this piece in photos, but it is an exceptional, bright top luster Azurite from Milpillas. Very difficult to photograph such bright faces so this is FAR better in person. These Azurites are modern classics and those with the sought after "electric blue" are so intense they are real world class display pieces. Display well from each side, individual crystals reach 3 CM and present complex, sculptural forms. This specimen was obtained as part of a large lot in late 2011. These are from the last mining, they will be regarded as great values in the future!
A REALLY fine Shattuckite specimen, far better in person than can be seen on a computer! Malachite in primary accicular crystals sprout from the center of a deep blue Shattuckite vug that is formed of radiating fibers. No damage, better specimens (like this) from the Kaokoveld are simply the best ever found for the species. We are told the zone is finished and there are no more to be had. this quality is now getting much harder to find and very costly. Priced WAY below market for this quality!

Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Municipio de Santa Cruz
6.6 x 4.8 CM (cabinet)
An excellent electric blue Azurite from the modern classic locale of Milpillas. No damage, great esthetics and contrast with the matrix. Crystals reach 2.6 CM and are well placed. Some zones of the Azurites show alteration to silky Malachite which adds additional color flash. This mine has produced many fine pieces, but as the opertions are now finished with the Azurite bearing zone, these are already appreciating quickly.
Wulfenite with Calcite

Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos
8.4 x 6.9 CM (cabinet)
A fine and showy classic Los Lamentos specimen of lustrous butterscotch to orange wulfenite scattered on contrasting sparkling calcite. The Wulfenites are very sharp and glassy, reach 1.5 CM plus and are in some cases selectivly coated on the edges with a rind of calcite crystals. From an older collection, this is a less common style of Wulfenite for Los Lamentos, probably from the deepest zones. The major crystals are perfect damage wise, but some edge zones have minor damage showing. Despite this, for such a delicate, older specimen this is in exceptional condition and displays well.
Even if you have seen a lot of great classic English Barites, this one is something special! The Barite blades are sharp, glassy to 6 CM in size, with a pale blue-grey color and partly included by dark red hematite. Just that is enough for a fine collection, but what makes this exceptional is the bright gem clear Calcites that are also partly included by hematite encrusting selective faces of the Barite. Very esthetic, the main crystals are in perfect condition but some edge and base damage (from removal) is noted, it will not be noticed from most logical display angles.

Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province
Souss- Massa- Draa Region,
6.2 x 4.1 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
The Erythrites of Bou Azzer are the worlds finest. They come out sporadically and the best examples are very much in demand. This is a very fine example, in perfect condition, with showy esthetics, sharp bright crystals and great color. Displays from several angles, a very good value on a contemporary classic!
