Pectolite (unusual green) with Grossular
stock #17-AL-473
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos
Quebec, Canada
5.2 x 4.6 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $1650
Spring update

Extraordinary mint-green acicular needle crystals form a sparkling mass on green and colorless Grossular crystals. This is the only example we have seen of green Pectolite from Jeffrey, or from anyplace for that matter. A few tiny Diopsides are also seen with magnification. Very bright and attractive. Some of he Pectolite needles are the typical white color close to the terminations but green near the base. Displays well from several angles, really different and special from the great Jeffrey mine.
Andradite var. Demantoid- classic locality
stock #18.1-168
Sferiun Asbestos Mine, Vallone del Cengiaccio, Vaitellina, Sondrio Provi
Lombardy, Italy
6.8 x 5.9 x 2.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $475
Spring update

Choice Val Malenco Garnet specimen with several waxy green rounded Demantoid crystals perched on typical Amphibole matrix. The elongation of the 2.1 CM main crystal is impressive, and shows complex rounded faces. Classic specimen, these have always been prized and this is an older piece, sawn on the back as is common to enable collecting intact. The matrix has some cracks that may be old repairs or typical weakness in the fibrous structure of the matrix. Well above average quality best appreciated in person
Pyromorphite
stock #0626-JM-3327
Runderoth, Grunblieberg Mine, Gummersbach, Bergisches Land
North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
8.9 x 6.1 x 4 CM (cabinet)
price: $490
Spring update

A cabinet sized Pyromorphite densely covered with dark green crystals in good condition. An older specimen Ex. John Marshall collection of Pyromorphites, obtained by him in 1994 in Munich. The locality given of Runderoth seems to be a specific point in or near the old Grunblieberg (Green lead Mountain) mining area. Nearly all of the matrix shows at least a few Pyros, but the main display face has a 5 CM diameter dense patch of well formed crystals. John was a fanatic collector of Pyros and was on a mission to obtain the best he could find from every locality in the world. He was not able to upgrade from this one during the next 20 years of collecting.
Sphalerite- Gem crystal
stock #18.AX- 161
ZCA Mine number 4, Balmat, Balmat-Edwards District, St. Lawrence, Co.
New York, United States
1.2 x .8 x .4 CM (thumbnail)
price: $110
Spring update

A small, gem clear single crystal of amber colored Sphalerite. Complete and undamaged from the remarkable finds decades ago at the ZCA (Zinc Corp. of America) mine in Balmat, NY. A "textbook quality" crystal, despite the small size this has good eye-catching luster and color.
Beryl var. Emerald wih Quartz
stock #18.1-056
Mina Amarillial, Cosquez, Municipio de Muzo
Boyaca, Colombia
5.4 x 4.8 x 2.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $850
Spring update

A two-sided specimen holding dozens of light to mid green Emerald crystals that are intermixed with Quartz crystals. Very unusual for a Colombian Emerald specimen, the usual association in Calcite. Prior to our finding this material the only Quartz matrix I have seen or know of for Emeralds is at Penas Blancas and it is very rare there. This little known cut near Coscuez has now produced a few of this rae combo. A choice and rare piece with many small, very clear Emeralds covering both sides of the matrix. With magnification the quality really stands out.
Analcime with Aegirine etc.
stock #18.1-AX-16-461
Mont Saint-Hilaire, Monteregie
Quebec, Canada
4.8 x 4.8 x 3.9 CM (miniature)
price: $420
Spring update

A complete, glassy "golfball" Analcime crystal that is studded with several Aegirine crystals and related minerals. Classic specimen and a fine display piece, this is complete on all sides and undamaged. The faces are sharp and translucent with bright luster. Mont St. Hillaire was for many years one of the few localities that was accessible to collectors and exposed many rarities and best of species. Those days are gone but specimens of this sort are the legacy of a great locale.
Topaz -gem clear crystal
stock #18.1-152A
Sakangyi-Kyauk-Pyat-That, Mogok, Pyin-Oo-Lwin,
Mandalay division, Myanmar (Burma)
3 x 2.2 x 1.8 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $220
Spring update

A single glass clear crystal that is in person colorless and bright. A few tiny lines and veils are seen inside but nearly all is facet grade. A choice Topaz from the legendary Mogok gem tract. No damage, a few faces have a light frosting but most are smooth, sharp and clear.
Bixbyite on Topaz
stock #8-AE-788
Thomas Mountains
Utah, United States
2.6 x 2.2 x 1.7 CM (thumbnail)
price: $50
Spring update

Bixbyite crystals with some complex faces up to 1.4 CM across on contrasting Topaz crystals. The Topaz is heavily included as is typical and several of the Bixbyite faces have a dusting of micro Topaz which are very clear. A very nice representative thumbnail of this classic locale. Some chipping seen with magnification mostly on edges, some crudeness to crystals too but still lustrous and sizable.
