Titanite var. Sphene
stock #8.DK-004
Capelinha
Minas Gerais, Brazil
5.6 x 5.5 x 5.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $1150
May 2015

A sharp and "monumental" looking cluster of Titanite in crystals to 3.1 CM. Transparent and with a good green color, some faces are smooth and glass clear and others have micro steps and a more etched look. Unknown inclusions add a little red zoning in a few spots. In very good condition for the specie, esthetic.

Elbaite -slightly curved crystal
stock #AX-19-100
Barra do Salinas Mining District, Coronel Murta
Minas Gerais, Brazil
7.2 x 2.2 x 1.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $325
Post Tucson 2015

A darker bottle green Tourmaline with a subtle curve, color gradation and complete termination. 34.5 Grams in heft, there is an area of fibrous (cat's eye) crystal in the curve zone where this crystal has had some natural breaks and rehealing. There is one repair at that point as well. A good, sizable, affordable crystal from a famed locale in good condition as seen.

Elbaite v. Indicolite
stock #AX-19-319
Pederneira Mine, Sao Jose da Safira, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3.8 x .5 x .5 CM (miniature)
price: $325
Post Tucson 2015

Blue color zoned gem Tourmaline in perfect condition and with fine luster. The body of this is a darker blue that needs backlighting to show up well, the tip is a very transparent light blue that grades darker along the crystal. A very nice "steel blue" crystal from the famed Pederneira claim, these are modern classics and not very common at not stratospheric prices.

Beryl var. Aquamarine
stock #A7-044-(1271)
Sapucaia do Norte, Galileia Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
6.6 x .8 x .5 CM (cabinet)
price: $320
Post Tucson 2015

A perfect floater etched Beryl crystal with pale green color more evident in person. No damage, the entire surface of this transparent crystal is the fine geometric etched patterns that make this type of Beryl so desirable. Bigger crystals with this degree of perfection are incredibly expensive, this smaller version is relatively affordable.

Rose Quartz
stock #AX-10-629
Governador Valadares, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
5.8 x 3.2 x 1.7 CM (cabinet)
price: $380
pre Tucson 2015 update

Rose Quartz crystals in a neat bundle from the great finds in Brazil circa 1970. This is mostly just pure crystallized rose Quartz with some inclusions. Fine transparency and minimal damage (micro chips and contacts)that is not easy to see by naked eye. The price reflects the minor imperfections, if you are not a strict perfectionist this is a very good value for the rarest type of crystallized quartz. The crystals reach 2 CM.

Elbaite
stock #AX-30-022
Jonas Mine, Itatiaia District, Conselheiro, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
4.6 x 1.2 x 1.6 CM (miniature)
price: $2600
pre Tucson 2015 update

Jonas Tourmaline is one of the most sought after gem crystal specimens and usually very expensive. This is a richly colored Elbaite, a little different from most Jonas pieces, it looks quite similar to some Cruzieros. This was part of a small suite of verified Jonas specimens and was unique in the parcel. The color at the termination end is deep intense red as would be expected, but the zoning is much rarer. The clarity is gem grade and the small side crystal is a nice esthetic addition. No damage at all, there is a contact one one side face that is not seen from any logical display angle. A fine, classic locale tourmaline with top color and quality.

Elbaite var. Indicolite
stock #AX-30-018
Santa Rosa Mine, Itambacuri, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
5.2 x 1.1 x .9 (miniature)
price: $700
pre Tucson 2015 update

A gemmy, bright blue Santa Rosa Tourmaline with a hue not often available. Not a perfect specimen but still very displayable, the main termination and main crystal is complete, undamaged but with a little matrix adhering, the small side crystals have damage that can be seen with careful examination. That said it has an uncommon color and luster with very good clarity that is really nice.

Titanite var. Sphene, twinned crystals
stock #AX-9-060
Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley
Minas Gerais, Brazil
3 x 2.5 x 2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $340
pre Tucson 2015 update

Gemmy twin crystals with sharp edges and bright luster on a contrasting matrix. In good condition overall but with some edge chipping, hence more affordable. This is from finds made in the 1990's which had especially good color.
