Vanadinite- Intense red, modern classic locale
stock #17.1-746
Pure Potential/ N. Geronimo Mine, Silver dist., Trigo Mts, La Paz County
Arizona, United States
7.1 x 4,9 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $420
Pre Holiday 2017

The Pure Potential (or North Geronimo) mine has become famed for outstanding Vanadinites, some of the best ever found in the Americas. Top pieces have an intense red color that is distinctive. This piece has that color and crystal sizes are above average for the hexagonal non hoppered type. Well isolated on a contrasting dark matrix the specimen has fine luster and flash. Several of the Vanadinites have some Calcite prisms sprinkled on them best seen with magnification. Nearly perfect only one small zone has some micro damage, the rest of the hundreds of sharp crystals are impressively perfect. The mine closed back to the late 1800s but in the past few decades has been worked for specimens with occasional finds of fine pieces like this. A USA classic and a pretty specimen from anyplace.

Caledonite with Phosgenite, Leadhillite?
stock #17.1-140
Rowley Mine, (Reliance Mine), Theba, Painted Rock District
Arizona, United States
2.8 x 2 x 1.2 CM (thumbnail)
price: $260
Spring 2017

Bright blue complex Caledonite crystal nicely perched on a mix of lead secondary minerals. The contrast with the matrix sets the Caledonite off very well. A very good example from the final collecting at Rowley. The matrix is a complex mix of micro minerals, this includes Phosgenite and Leadhillite seems to be in several spots, but is not confirmed. A very nice Arizona thumbnail.

Wulfenite with Mimetite
stock #AX-21-052
Rowley Mine, (Reliance Mine), Theba, Painted Rock District
Arizona, United States
4.6 x 3.4 x 2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $700
Spring 2017

An excellent, fine, delicate and colorful specimen of windowpane Wulfenite on matrix. A few tiny bits of Mimetite are found on close inspection. In incredible condition for such a delicate mineral, with good magnification I can find only one tiny chipped crystal that is out of sight anyway, essentially perfect. This was found in the last mining attempts at Rowley, that project is now finished and there may never be any more of these. A clean, classic and very esthetic specimen.

Andradite with Actinolite (Uralite)
stock #16.1-290
Stanley Mine, Graham Co.
Arizona, United States
3.4 x 2.7 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $110
Winter 2016-17

Unusually sharp, isolated and nicely composed, this is a lot more esthetic than most specimens from this well-known locale. No damage, 3 dimensional specimen that can easily be trimmed to make a fine thumbnail.

Chalcotrichite with Copper
stock #15.1-883
Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts., Cochise Co.
Arizona, United States
4.3 x 4.2 x2.4 CM (miniature)
price: $90
Fall 2015

Old Bisbee specimen has three vugs with Cuprite V. Chalcotrichite crystals with typical bright red color. Ex. Rocksmith specimen, there are a few tiny bits of Native copper and some calcite crystals that seem to have copper inclusions too. Classic material, this small piece is relatively affordable for one of these.

Wulfenite
stock #15.1-289
Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz County
Arizona, United States
4.7 x 3.3 x 3.3 CM (miniature)
price: $550
May 2015

The Red Cloud Mine is rightly legendary and highly regarded as a source of great Wulfenite. This example has a main crystal that is undamaged, has fine color and sits perfectly on the matrix. Remarkably, all the tiny associated Wulfenites and Calcites are in fine condition even under 10X magnification. The base and rear of the specimen was sawn flat to enable collection without damage. The saw marks are completely hidden from any display angle and the piece sits well by itself.

Groutite on petrified wood
stock #8.AE-643
Holbrook, Navajo County
Arizona, United States
4.9 x 2.4 x 2.3 CM (miniature)
price: $200
Post Tucson 2015

A rarity from the famed petrified forests of Arizona, an agatized wood limb fragment is covered on several sides with bright shining needle crystals of Groutite. In good condition and quite unusual.
