Olivenite (Zn-rich) with Malachite, Mottramite on Cuprite
stock #14.1-050
Tsumeb
Otjikoto Region, Namibia
9.8 x 7.2 x2.7 cm (cabinet)
price: $3200
Fall 2015

A significant and exceptionally fine cabinet specimen of well-crystallized Olivenite-Zn from Tsumeb. The surface is densely covered with tabular hexagonal crystals which is a rare Olivenite habit typical of zinc rich varieties which is chemically very close to Cuprian Adamite. The crystals are clustered in rows, stacks, sheaves and rosettes. The condition is excellent and by naked eye perfect, 20X magnification finds just a few very tiny rub spots. The matrix is massive Cuprite and the esthetics, color and display quality are all top notch. This is an exceptional and important Tsumeb specimen that will be a fine addition for a top quality suite.

Brazilianite with Muscovite
stock #7.1-023
Telirio Mine, Linopolis
Minas Gerais, Brazil
5.1 x 3 x 2.2 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $525
Fall 2015

Another Brazilian classic. This features a fine sharp, glassy and partly gemmy Brazilianite that is nicely paired with Muscovite showing twin crystal forms. In great condition, the specimen displays very well from several sides. From the major pockets found in 2008, this quality is not being found now. There have been two major finds of fine Brazilianite in the past 70 years, both were different in habit, it may be a long while before the next one if ever. A good value for an esthetic and choice specimen.

Beryl var. Aquamarine with Albite
stock #AX-19-267
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Pref.
Sichuan Province, China
6.8 x 4.9 x 4.1 CM (cabinet)
price: $600
Fall 2015

Tabular style Aquamarine specimen from Xuebaoding is a modern classic. This one has excellent form and very good color, transparency and glassy luster. In fine condition this has very esthetic display impact. The main crystal is 3.9 CM across.

Grossular on Diopside
stock #15.1-720
Eden Mills Quarries, Lowell & Eden
Vermont, United States
7.8 x 5 x 3.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
Fall 2015

Gemmy bright red garnets contrast with a minty green setting of small Diopside crystals. From the classic, long closed "Eden Mills" locality, these are now quite hard to find (and afford) in good quality. The Garnets (to 8 mm) are well exposed and sit up from the matrix. This is not perfect, there are a few contacts, chips, rough spots etc best seen at 10x but the naked eye display quality is quite fine, and this is far less costly as a result.

Apatite
stock #15.1-348
Greifenstein Rocks, Ehrenfriedersdorf, Erzgebirge
Saxony, Germany
6.1 x 4.1 x 2 CM (cabinet)
price: $1300
Fall 2015

An old German classic Apatite with sizable purple crystals on contrasting matrix. Crystals are up to 1.6 CM in size with large transparent sections and sharp form. There is an old repair on this piece that is only seen with good magnification. The crystals are overall in good condition but there are some tiny broken quartz and chipped Apatite that is best seen at 10X magnification. This is in very good condition for its age, and the crystal size is huge for the locale. Esthetic. Ex Jorg Walther collection.

Heliodor - gemmy, etched Beryl
stock #14.1-230
Volodarsk-Volynskii
Zhytomyr Oblast', Ukraine
4.9 x 3.1 x 2 CM (miniature)
price: $1700
Fall 2015

A complete etched floater Heliodor crystal from the famed (and now gone) Volodarsk deposit. This locale produced these remarkable Beryls in "chamber" pockets which are now highly prized. The complex sculpture of this specimen is impressive and esthetic. 100 percent gem grade, this is all facet grade with no internal flaws or veils, has great color and is a hefty 27.8 grams. In perfect condition by naked eye but I must mention that one edge at 20X magnification does have an very tiny rough point. That is not visible on display but needs to be mentioned. This can be presented from any angle with impact far greater than its size. These are considered by many collectors the best Heliodor in the world.

Apatite on Quartz
stock #15.1-342
Panasquieira Mines, Panasquiera Covilha
Castelo Branco District, Portugal
4.5 x 2 x 1.5 CM (miniature)
price: $600
Fall 2015

A very choice piece, this is a glass-clear quartz crystal hosting several purple gem Apatites. The Quartz is perfectly terminated, overall sharp and impressive in person, in very fine condition. Strong magnification reveals some tiny Siderite crystals. The Apatites have some slight zonation and have top luster. Not a typical Panasqueira specimen, and far more esthetic than average.

Fluorite - penetration twins, early specimen
stock #AC-356
Weardale North Pennines
County Durham, England
4.9 x 4.7 x 3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $700
May 2015

Brilliant green transparent cubes to 4 cm across show penetrations and fine growth hillocks. This also has a very nice daylight Fluorescence in vivid purple blue. A quite old specimen (pre 1950's) that is notably different from any of the recent finds. The color and clarity stand out in person, but are hard to see in photos. The condition is fine on the two primary display sides, the back is broken where it was removed and not visible in any logical display.
