Arsenopyrite pseudo after Pyrrhotite
stock #AX-10-741
Santa Eulalia, Aquiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
7.3 x 5.5 x 3.9 CM (cabinet)
price: $1650

An exceptional, elegant Pseudomorph ex. Ed Swoboda's fine collection of Pseudos. Likely mined pre 1970, there is nothing like this on the market. Tapered, curving crystals of the original Pyrrhotites formed a very esthetic cluster and reached to 5.3 CM long. The replacement by Arsenopyrite seems to be complete and has a brilliant sparkling luster. Minor associated Sulphides are seen but this is almost entirely Arsenopyrite/ Pyrrhotite. In great condition as seen, this displays well from all angles. A fine addition to any pseudo collection, Mexican or Sulphide suite.

Mimetite with Wulfenite
stock #13.1-143
Mina Ojuela, Mapimi
Durango, Mexico
5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm (miniature)
price: $300

Very pretty "wet look" bright Mimetite and yellow Wulfenite crystals to 1 CM from the late 2012 finds at Mapimi. When these were found everyone compared them to the legendary Mimetites of San Pedro de Coralitos from the 70's. Many considered these to have better form, color and luster. The Wulfenites are an added bonus. The largest and most perfect specimens sold quickly for huge sums and there have been none since. Most pieceS had a lot of damage and few had good Wulfenites. We have a few smaller, very nice pieces that will not break the bank and display very well. This specimen has some damage that can be seen with a careful study, but is limited and far better than 90 percent. Fine display impact for the size, this is a fraction of the price for a mediocre San Pedros piece yet has a lot more eye appeal.

Wulfenite & Mimetite
stock #AX-18-071
Ojuela Mine, Mapami
Durango, Mexico
6 x 3.5 x 2.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $950

A bright, delicate and colorful Wulfenite with rare greenish-yellow color. Bright green balls of Mimetite decorate the piece from from Vintage 1960's finds. Despite the exceptional delicacy of this piece the condition is quite good, there are some broken parts of a few crystals but they can be minimized or hidden by display angle. Overall this has a of of impact for its size. This color and habit are no longer available, something special for any Wulfenite suite or Mexican suite.

Wulfenite with Mimetite
stock # AX-22-079
San Francisco Mine, Cucurpe
Sonora, Mexico
4.9 x 4.2 x 3.5 CM (miniature)
price: $1100
Spring 2014

Lots of display impact and color in outstanding condition. This has remarkable pristine condition, architecture and the composition is top notch. Classic San Francisco Mine Wulfenite with tiny orange balls of Mimetite and a big transparent "window" crystal on top. The larger crystals are gemmy yellow with deep orange phantoms near the centers caused by the Mimetite. Since these are notoriously delicate most show lots of damage but not on this piece, the main crystals are perfect and complete. Vintage about 1998, if ordering please select the more expensive shipping option which includes full insurance. This can be carefully packaged and shipped safely BUT If ordering from out of the USA be aware there is a high risk of damage if opened for customs inspection!

Quartz var. Amethyst - with scepters
stock #AX-24-122
Cerro de Concordia, Piedra Parada
Veracruz, Mexico
4.8 x 4.5 x 1.8 CM (miniature)
price: $240
Spring 2014

From the newest find at Cerro de Concordia, a pretty spray with distinct sceptering off the main crystal. Bright, colorful and undamaged with attractive form. There are some tiny orange flake-like inclusions as well.

Malachite psudo after Azurite (huge crystal)
stock #AX-3-408
Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Municipio de Santa Cruz
Sonora, Mexico
8.5 x 5.7 x 3.2 CM (cabinet)
price: $1180
Spring 2014

An extremely large (over 3-1/2 inches) single compound crystal of Azurite is partly altered to a silky green Malachite, yet still has large areas of deep blue. Somewhat blocky and crude but with strong and clear form this is an impressive piece and one of the largest single crystal pseudos that have come from this prolific location. Esthetic and with strong display presence, this was mined in 2011. A very good value.

Creedite (large purple crystals)
stock #AX-18-006
Santa Eulalia, Aquiles Serdan
Chihuahua, Mexico
3.2 x 2.7 x 1.9 CM (small miniature/ large thumbnail (toenail))
price: $880
Spring 2014

A small specimen but with unusually large, perfect crystals of purple Creedite. An old (pre 1980) specimen from Santa Eulalia, that is now almost impossible to find in any quality. Quite different and much rarer than the orange Creedite from Durango, good Purple Creedite has only been found in crystals over 1 CM in two locations, Kazakhstan and Santa Eulalia. At about 2 CM long these are huge for the specie, undamaged, have great form and displays well from all sides.

Amethyst (classic Guerrero candlepin form)
stock #12.1-261
Amatitlan, Municipio de Zumpango del Rio
Guerrero, Mexico
11.6 x 3.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $1400

A very good, older specimen with the distinctive form that makes the Guerrero Amethyst world famous. From the "golden years" in the 1930's vintage mining, This is a single crystal with a few side crystals attached presenting the "fat belly" form with good (slightly better than average) color. The phantoms are also quite distinct and are more impressive in person reaching a deep grape purple color at the core. Some typical minor bruises are seen in the photos, and some side crystals have chipping, but these can be hidden by rotating the piece. I would rate this specimen as well above average for color, size and form but not a "super-top" piece (which in this size can be a 20-30K specimen!). A good value for a fine addition for any Mexican collection or quartz suite
